Competition The Race for 4th

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They really were a loooong way off, they played shit football under OGS, and nothing about them made them look like a top 4 team (they didn't when they finished 2nd under the dinosaur too). To this day don't get why anyone thought Ronaldo was a good signing for them, he wasn't for Juve, why would he be for Utd? Turns out he wasn't. I think Varane is a very good player, but he's not going to make them a good side on his own and Sancho is just a kid (who's hasn't had a single good game when selected to play for England, so the signs were there that he's a long way to go yet before he reaches the same level of hype that surrounded him). OGS was their manager.

They literally scored 72 goals last season and they finished 2nd, how were they a long way off?

Yeah but despite all that their squad looked incredibly strong going into the new season, those predictions were done before the season started not during...if you didn't predict Utd to get top 4 then who did you replace them with?

I think one of the key moments was the 3-0 defeat against Man United. I was hospitalised with a broken ankle at the time and the physio who helped me regain my mobility happened to be a United fan and he had the pleasure of telling me about his team's win, Nuno's sacking and Conte's appointment.

The funny thing is that if we had won that match, United would have probably sacked Solskjaer then and appointed Conte while we would have persisted with Nuno for a bit longer and then found there was no one to replace him with when we realised Nuno was a lost cause.

Maybe by losing that game, we actually won.
Thank fuck for hour broken ankle

Because they played quite poorly, they didn't have control of their games, it didn't look good, and 11 of those goals were pens, they only had a GD of 29 (we've just finished 4th with a GD of 29!! we've had 5 pens this season!) It didn't look great when Jose was 2nd.

I know they were done before the season. I'm shocked how many people thought they were a shoe in.

I can't recall my predictions, I know I went with City then Chavs. Probably Liverpool, but I do recall that I thought they were on the slide following a poor season with the same players who were all knocking on the door of 30 or there about.....I got them wrong.

Do you think they are a shoe-in for top 4 next season with these amazing players? If not, why not?

Just listening to that prick Bent on Talksport.

It's weird how open he is about being an Woolwich fan and wanting them to finish above Spurs.
You would think he would have a bit more respect for the club that paid his wages for a few years.

Shitcunt

Nah obviously not next season, things are a whole lot different now compare to then for Utd and the other clubs including us.

Not a single pundit had Spurs in the top 4. I am gobsmacked at the number who had Utd though.

With Nuno in charge, the whole Kane saga, our signings were potential rather than certainties.......who the fuck in the media were gonna pick Spurs to finish the top 4. Of course they picked Utd over Spurs, Arse and West Sham, absolutely made sense.

Am looking forward to going to the pub tomorrow with the biggest shit sandwich for all those gooners and spammers. Can only hope that Chavs go to the wall as I’ve enough for them too.
