Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Daily Mail claim that Spurs are after Marc Guehi...while they also claim that Gvardiol is playing for RB Salzburg (maybe they believe all Red Bull teams are the same) 😁

TOTTENHAM

A timely £150m capital increase could help keep Antonio Conte. He wants a squad capable of winning trophies not just fourth place and that will be thrashed out with Fabio Paratici this week.

A left-sided centre back such as Salzburg’s Gvardiol, Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni or Villarreal’s Pau Torres is desired while Gabriel Jesus, Renato Sanches, Christian Eriksen plus homegrown Djed Spence, Kalvin Phillips, James Ward-Prowse are wanted. Fraser Forster will sign.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Cover at left back, a right back, defensive and box to box midfielders plus a right-sided winger who can play central are Palace’s priorities. Cheick Doucoure from Lens and Woolwich’s Eddie Nketiah are among those discussed while Christian Benteke, Luka Milivojevic and Cheikou Kouyate could leave.

Keeping hold of Marc Guehi who has interest from Spurs and Michael Olise will be key. Wilfried Zaha’s deal also expires next summer.

One of the most underrated footballers in Premier League history.
Hahaha I couldn’t think of a worse player to complement Kane and Son. Selfish, headless chicken

Don’t get me wrong, he would shine at somewhere like Woolwich who have zero attacking goal threat but we have a structured system with existing world class attackers…. I’ve not seen him even pass to Kane for Eng, let alone tandem like Kane, Don and Kulu do

Plus he earns almost twice what Kane and Son earn

Spence wouldnt be my first choice but it's crazy how many people would rather injury prone midget Lamptey or teenager Livramento, both of whom would cost around £50mil
I think we're better off sticking with Emerson and Doherty than replacing them with any of these players.

Unless we're getting proven quality in that position, it's not worth it. I would hate it if we sold Emerson off and replaced him with someone with a few fancy ball skills but can't defend. Wing-back is a defensive position and defensive attributes should be the first consideration.

Gareth Bale was originally signed as a full-back but despite his obvious talent on the ball he took a couple of seasons to establish himself in the team and he certainly didn't succeed because of his defensive qualities. My assessment of Spence is along similar lines. He is still a player in development and may find that his attacking talents supersede his defensive ones and will therefore be no good to us as a wing back.

If the aim is to build a team that can compete for the League and the Champions League, we need wing backs who can defend. If their attacking qualities are deficient, they focus on getting the ball to the players who can attack (as Emerson has been doing).

Yeh, shes sound... but...

I personally prefer the real thing and not implants...

According to Fabrizo, it looks as if Man Utd's preferred CB targets are Jurrien Timber & Pau Torres. And they've already got Lindelöf, Maguire and Varane, but it looks as if they're yet again going to spend a small fortune on CB's (well, Timber can also play RB).

Hopefully, either way hope the Conte factor gives us the edge when it comes to Bastoni

Since when did 'preparing a bid' make you more credible??
We've prepared LOADS of bids, and still missed out!

He would prefer to join United? Pass, for lack of judgment alone.
I think we're about to find out this Summer what has more pull:
The allure of playing CL,
or playing for the Man Utd 'name' still!!

BTW... I'd LOVE to sign 'TIMBER' just so we can all shout it like lumberjacks every time he falls over!

So why bother signing anyone?

Conte want's fullbacks who attack, that what part of his gameplay is built on. Doherty is a Conte type fullback, why would we sign another Emerson type, makes no sense. I don't disagree that the fullback needs to be able to defend also and Conte will look for this in who he signs, but he will want someone who will be part of the attacking unit creating and also scoring goals.
