Why the fuck not?

Just because he is not a shiny new toy? Just because we did not pay 100 mil eur for him means that he would not be suited to start in the CM position? Please, do fundamentally explain what attributes on the field does it impact that he is club trained and did not cost a fortune?

For fuck sake, he was reaaaaalllyy good in some early season performances. More consistent than PEH in my view.
And it was against likes of City as well. It is not like people are praising him for his Championship performances.

Lad is just 21 and only managed to get 923 minutes under Conte - and all of it came while he was still implementing his approach, none in the latter stages.

I am not saying that this will surely happen. But if he comes back fully fit and rested, I personally would not be surprised to slightest if he plays himself into being 1st choice CM in the club coming season. In terms of ceiling - from players in our books, he has the highest one. Young players can step up and I absolutely believe he could be starting majority of the games in the side and would not be a stumbling block/weakest link for EPL win. Least shiny toy - yes, probably. Next to this unknown academy wanker up top wearing no 10.
The really good news is that Antonio Conte( who knows a bit about what a top level midfield player looks like) apparently adores him. Pretty sure the Skipp medical fiasco will finally see us rid of the Flight of the Concords medial team, that's how mad Conte is about Skipps loss. He rates him very highly.

Frankie De Jong in talks with Man Utd …

I haven’t seen much of him at Barcelona, but he looked exactly the player we need at Ajax. He can’t be that keen to move to be offloaded to that circus ? Should we…

Would you ever consider selling Kane to Chelsea or Woolwich? Would Levy?

I'm guessing not.

So it doesn't matter how big we go (within realistic boundaries), West Ham would feel that same way and would not sell him to us. Not a chance.
They have to sell him really….. and we have more financial power than them so not 100% like for like.

Who else will be interested? Chelsea? Not much better in terms of selling to a rival

He's on stupid wages, I remember a report detailing why Barca were bankrupt last year and it showed what the players salaries were and if I recall he was on something like £300k a week or something.

We should go big for Rice. Yes they won’t want to sell to us but money talks and his contract is ticking

Would be a huge improvement
No way. They would want £150m for him but he's not even a £50m player. Let Man Ure throw all their money away on fashion items.
We should never over pay for a player by more than a small amount.

I'm so contradicted when it comes to Bale. A part of me knows that it's not sensible at all to want him back and that he wouldn't work under Conte. The kid in me though wants to see him once more in a Spurs shirt, being cheered in front of a packed White Hart Lane, and helping Kulusevski develop even more.

Wait, some of those in the Winks thread were adamant that he'd have no interest this Summer
What makes you think he is keen on moving? That's an old interview with club PR, and he never opens the door to moving. In fact, he talks about wanting to push on and win trophies at Spurs.

I'd suspect he's more open to a loan than anything else. Been at Spurs since he was 5, surely he's not going to be instigating a move just as it looks like we may win something.

Hope it works out for him, wherever he goes. At least we know if he does ever kick on, we've got dibs on him.
