Fuck all y’all!

I’m in!

He'll be good I think, but we're really missing a trick if we don't get someone who can retain possession like Bissouma. Someone who can jostle with the ball with their feet and come out on top, do a bit of tiki taka with the CBs etc.

McKennie is technically not great. Better than Bentancur IMO, but not the level we need/want.

If we have 150m on top of the existing transfer kitty, we should just get SMS or something.

I think the list of incoming transfers isn't that big.

LWB - Perisic
RWB - Spece?
LCB - Bastoni?
We'll still have Sess, Doc, Davies still here should they fail to adapt quickly.

The only other MUST HAVE position is a CM like Bissouma.

We can keep Berg/Lucas as depth in attack. PEH, Skipp and Benta will also remain. So not really a huge change.

The outs are mostly the likes of Winks, Lo Ceslo, Rodon, who never get game time anyway.
I would agree with this. But I've seen some people basically proposing 10 out/in which is just madness.

SMS isn't that player either.

Yeah, he plays a lot higher up the pitch, I've said in a previous comment that he's more of an Eriksen than a Demebele, but tbh, I can't think of many players who can bring his level of g+a while also offering that degree of presence in midfield.

I wanted Anguissa when he left Fulham and he seems to be doing well at Napoli but I don't see that happening now.

You got any ideas?

This is it though; so long as we fix the WBs and stay 343; I don't think G&A from CM is as important in this team... We need press-resitance and ball retention.

Even if we shift to 352 at times; I'd rather Bissouma & Eriksen for about 30-40m(*)..... I think Kulu could also adapt to that Eriksen-role in a 3 too.

(*Added bonus; this would leave another 30-40m on the table for us to plow into a FWD too.)

Tiki taka with Dier and Sanchez? Half the spurs supporter base will need CPR

As proven by his 3-4-3 at Chelsea. Kante & Matic were hardly the most creative or dangerous going forward, but they provided a solid base. Matic could pick a pass for sure (and I still think we need a more incisive midfielder) but he wasn't expected to be much of an attacking threat. That came from Moses/Alonso at WB & the front 3 of Pedro, Costa & Hazard.

Bit different in the 3-5-2 where he's had a good handful of midfielders who add a bunch of goals and assists, but whilst we're in this 3-4-3 shape that would be more a bonus than a necessity really.

Sangare (PSV), Koné (BMG), Thuram (Nice).

The first two are both 6’s who can play football, Thuram more an 8 who has good physicality.

I also like Caqueret (Lyon) and Lopez (Sassuolo). These are more 8’s - but little busy fuckers who knit play and move the ball forwards pretty well. But we kind of have in the mould of skip.

I concede that it's been a bit of a pet peeve of mine for a long time. For me, there should always be a CM who has great movement in the final third and finishing, it's always felt like something that kept Poch Spurs from true greatness.

Watching the bucketloads of chances wasted by PEH, Sissoko and others over the years makes me think that there's a huge untapped resource for us. A CM who can bang one in front range, or run pas the striker (like PEH frequently does) makes it much harder for the opposition to just sit back.

Kante was/is one of the best midfielders in the world. Incredibly intelligent, hugely fit, relentlessly covers ground. If we'd signed him instead of Sissoko, we'd have probably mounted another title challenge, if not won it.
