Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Adam Crafton of the Athletic reporting that us and Woolwich are interested in Raphina, and that Barcelona are unlikely to pursue him for financial reasons. Also mentions our interest in Richarlison, and that it would be a case of Richarlison or Raphina, not both.

I really like Raphina, he's obviously class. I don't really see him playing anywhere but RW though, has anybody seen him play effectively on the left? Richarlison probably fills more gaps for us imo.

Reports in Brazil that Richarlson doesn't want to decide his future until he is back from holiday. Maybe that is too late for us so we are going to go for Raphinha instead?

So, if one is to believe the rumor mill, then, by the start of the season, Spurs will have turned into Brazil...as they are "planning" to buy all the following Brazilians: Dodô, Bremer, Lucas Paqueta, Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus, Raphinha. There's is no way that Emerson or Luca Moura will leave Spurs then :D

If we bought Raphina, I don't see where our cover for Kane/Son/goalscoring comes from, without buying a striker as back up, which is what Richarlison brings..

I'd have thought that its more likely to be Eriksen OR Raphina - whilst not alike in their playing position both bring creativity ?

A Gold's article says we will be replacing any players that leave this summer on top of the positions Conte wants new players in for. So theoretically we could buy both couldn't we?

I think Richarlison is a winger that CAN play up top if needed ,like when DCL is injured. Raphina is a must better winger. For me, buying Raphina is both the better and smarter move, he will (likely) cost less and we can use Son as the back up striker or better yet buy Raphina and a second out and out number 9. That way no worries about Richarlison’s attitude.

Kane, Son, Kulu Raphina, Lucas would be mind blowing attacking options and add a backup 9 and Wow!

I don’t see Raphina playing on the wing - you think one of the front 3 or wing back?

We will be constrained by our HG numbers - so I'm expecting to have a total of 23 maybe 24 players in the squad.

2 players per position plus a 3rd GK is 23 players.

So atm I think it looks like :

CM's appear to Bissouma, Bentancur, Skipp, Hojbjerg (= 4 for 2 positions)

forward line - Kulusevski, Kane, Son, Moura, Eriksen (?) , back up striker (= 6 for 3 positions)

That's why I think its either/or ...... but could be wrong (eg if Conte happy to operate with 5 CB's whilst playing 3) ........

It actually drives me bananas when I read/hear people repeat nonsense they learned from Top Gear about America. Don't hate me for being a tourist but I did the pacific coast drive and it was epic. Better than anything I've ever done in the South East of England. I suspect the best I could do in the whole of the UK is the NC500 and I'm not really up for driving 500 shitty miles to do a 500 mile fun drive to then drive 500 shitty miles back.
Off topic but the NE250 is quite good (and a number of distilleries nearby!)

I was kind of joking. The HG angle is a good point though. But I'm not willing to get bogged down in that chat or worry about it. Spence coming in on top of Forster will help of course and they will probably be replacing other foreign players (eg. bergwijn, lucas etc)

Spence and Forster are essential to getting to 23 or 24 players (under UEFA definition) as Skipp is no longer an u21 next season, so its :

Club trained : Kane, Skipp, Tanganga, Austin (4 - as minimum required). Assumes Winks sold

Trained at other clubs affiliated to The FA : Sessegnon, Forster, Spence (3)

Minimum 8 HG players (club trained and other clubs), but we have 7 so we can only have 24 players.

Plusses and minuses

- Tanganga has been in Spurs first team for 3 seasons but never had a run of matches so lacks experience. Best thing could be a loan out .... reducing us to 6 HG players and hence 23 players in the squad.

- Possibly one player available from u21's who is now over 21 who could cover RWB/LWB but not sure Conte wants a player with almost zero first team exposure ...... and no links to HG players to buy. So realistically no upside on HG players.

So as I say likely 23 or 24 players in squad
