Nothing wrong with telling a player that the club is willing to sell them, a player can then decide whether to knuckle down and prove himself, or take it as the writing on the wall and look for a fresh start elsewhere. We'll likely be telling Emerson, Requillon and others to find another club and they seem quite happy here. Is that strongarming them out or just part and parcel of modern day football? As long as its not done with any animosity or 'freezing them out' i just dont see the issue. Clearly Moura wont do anything he doesnt want to do. But as i said we heard the same from Toby and Lamela 12 months ago.
Look I don't know whether you just skipped past it or maybe I've misinterpreted, but there was a page with more than one person suggesting ways that the club should "make" Moura accept a move which he doesn't want, including the threat of not playing him. For me that's completely at odds with, as a fan, then expecting loyalty to the club from players who are under contract.
You tell a player that they will be down the pecking order due to new arrivals, it leaves the door open for them to outperform the new guy in training and matches and reclaim the spot, you tell a player you deliberately won't play them to force them into moving, that's BS. And that is what I took it as some suggesting.
