What would be your ideal team realistically we could end up with. Considering Conte normally uses 352 when he has his players I would say the below in terms of players per position.

Forster

Romero Bremer Torres
Sanchez Dier Davies

Doherty Eriksen Bissouma Bentancur Perisic
Spence Sarr Hojberg Skipp Sessegnon

Kane Son
Kulu Richarlison
 
I reckon our “meaningful” business i.e. first team transfers to be done within two weeks.

Conte will want everyone in for a full pre-season to get them ready for the season. No point in having big names coming in half way through.

According to the ITK, Conte needs a LCB, RWB and a forward. So Bremer/Torres/Bastoni for CB. Presumably Spence at RWB and Raphinha/Richarlison as a forward? Maybe Eriksen too?

We’d have a ridiculously strong team if that happened. Exciting times.

Dele is appearance dependent apparently so likely to get F all for him.
Could try and use that on the Richalison deal though. IE, we effectively gave you a player for free, now do us a favour.

It would be interesting if we did something like waive the dele add on fees to get Richarlison for a reasonable price. I have a feeling everton would dump dele before letting the first £10m fee trigger.
 
Woolwich about to spend £50m on Jesus. Which is almost all of what City paid for Haaland.
Yet people are jealous of Arssenal's spending.

Jesus. Who couldn't get starts for City before Haaland. And would struggle to get in our side ahead of Kane and Son. And cost Woolwich £50m. And people are jealous and feel we need to go and spend more.

I've had a feeling they would come to the conclusion that his 2 year contract is cheaper than the add ons. If they did that they've sort of stitched us up. But some would argue getting him off the wage bill was a win even if we get no money in. The saving is as good as a fee.
 


Reckon Inter will play us but he is a proper talent, can play striker and wide if needed. He would under someone like Conte even press Kane and Son for a starting role if he continues to develop. About as good a striker you can sign anywhere other than Haaland this window.

I reckon we need to find a way to spite them. They fucked us around on Martinez last year and on Bastoni this year.

I don't know anything about that lad they brought but can you comment - is he good and has high ceiling?

Cause I have to be honest - I would not be against signing someone creative, young, with potential and who has been following Bernardo Silva / Bruno Fernandes footsteps... Portugese league has produced some significant talent, and some technically good and sharp player would not hurt us...

I doubt we'll see an 'ideal team' on anything except a very irregular basis.

As we saw from the fixtures list released this morning the PL starts a week earlier than usual and ends a week later - but there is a 6 week world cup starting in early November and finishing just before Christmas

So the net effect is the season is a month shorter but same number of games.

PL has looked at this and recognised danger that players get over-tired by playing pretty much every 3 or 4 days from start of season until the end of season if they play every game, and hence decision to allow all teams to use 5 subs a week,

So with that scenario Conte will be rotating the team continually to rest players as it will be impossible for any player to play that many games every 3 or 4 games without a break without risk of constant injuries.

I thought this one might crop up again. Martinez over Richarlison for me and both over Jesus. If Kane injured or rested Son and Martinez would still be a shit hot front 2
