We have already got lock pickers in the forward line, Kane and Kulusevski are very smart players. If your looking for a lock picker deeper Raphinha wouldn’t be that he is a winger like Kulusevski.

Maddison would be the obvious target if you wanted a player who could create a chance out of nothing.
Unfortunately Maddison is a total cockwomble who supports Woolwich.

You've gone from saying hi WILL get 15-20 to he MIGHT get 15.

I'd be interested to see Lacazette's XG vs conversion rate..... They didn't seem to create much for him last year.

Lacazette - EPL: 1785mins / 90 = 19.8 games >>> 7 goals = 0.35 g/p90.
Jesus - EPL: 1878mins / 90 = 20.8 games >>> 8 goals = 0.38 g/p90

There's fuck all in it.

......Accept Arse won't create as many chances as City did.

Lacazette was expected to score 7 & scored 4.

Jesus was expected to score 10 & scored 8.

He is he is just a very very good player. Like Declan Rice I would like to say he isn’t but he is special.

If I had to rate the best players outside the top 6 in the league based on last seasons form I would have gone with the below.

Rice
Bissouma
Maddison
Richarlison
Raphinha
Toney

Jesus never got a run of games though because of the quality City have. Any player needs runs of games to show their best, and Jesus has always struck me as one of those confidence kind of players. If he goes there and they make him their main man up top and play him centrally I have no doubts whatsoever he would score 15+ goals over a season, injuries permitting. They have different strengths as Lacazette is more of a hold the ball up and link play type of player, but if I was choosing one for us I'd take Jesus all day, every day. He's just a better all round player and more versatile.

FOUR.... Yeh, fuck me.... I must have gone number blind for a moment there....

Still..... 2 misses vs 3 = small margins.

I will say I do think Jesus is a better player. His movement is superior & despite the stats over one season I’d have him as a significantly sharper finisher.

Sometimes stats (especially xG) can be a tad misleading over a relatively small sample size. I expect Jesus to improve but not transform them.

Not RWB?
Not LCB?
Not the lomg fabled ST2?

You think priority now is backup for Kulu?

Not at all reactionary.
I don't think there are any RWBs we can realistically get who would make a significant impact on our team this season.
Spence will be very good in future years after Conte improves him.

And as for LCB, I don't think we will get a player who is a big upgrade on Davies, given Bastoni doesn't want to come.

So yes right now I would say Raphinha is a #1 priority. He can play well at LW too, and I don't see him as a 'back up'- we need 4 class attackers if we are to challenge for multiple trophies.
Also if Woolwich get him that's a double blow.

They played roughly the same amount.

...And like Jesus; Lacazette has been in and out ever since he arrived.

He's decent; not denying that...... BUT you're talking about a player that professes to prefer to play on the wing and are merely using your gut to come to such conclusions about his output.

His best ever EPL season: 21 starts + 13 sub = 14 goals.........

Again; without KDB & co. there's no reason to assume he can match that at Arse.

Raphinha is on another level to Richarlison. This is not looking good at all...

Athletic excerpt:
There is a sense around the situation, and among the other teams interested in Raphinha, that Woolwich are now firm favourites for his signature.
There is optimism at the Emirates Stadium that they have manoeuvred into a strong position and it is thought Raphinha is open to the potential move.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in the Brazil international but the former are currently focusing their attention on Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling and the latter’s first-choice target is Everton forward Richarlison.

Daniel Levy has approved for Tottenham to withdraw £100m of the £150m ENIC cash investment to put towards the summer transfer window (Football London).
This comes after the Spurs majority ownership increased capital by £150m last month, via convertible A Shares and accompanying warrants

Jesus never got a chance to play centrally for City, other than the odd game here and there. Perhaps he's just simply better out wide. But Woolwich will likely play him centrally and Jesus has shown already he has goals in him.

Lacazette was a regular last season. He was their main man up top until Arteta finally lost faith in him and started to play Nketiah at the back end of the season, which most Woolwich supporters were totally against.

He'll become bang average though the moment he signs for them, so it's alright.

But then you have players like Fabián Ruiz and, as you did mention, Lucas Paquetá, who can both operate centrally but also in more advanced positions.
I would believe that Raphinha and Saint Maxim would count as strikers. IMO they do. But, anyway, Conte may have a different take on it

Ruiz is primarily a centre mid though, like Neves, like DeJong, Modric. They are more comfortable deeper and have an all round ability. They are not counted as attacking midfielders in the modern game. Now an attacking midfielder is someone who operates primarily in the attacking 3rd.

Raphinha and Saint Maxim are strikers???? Not for me

But yeah like you say it depends on what Conte thinks.
