Did PSG sue us or Betis over Lo Celso?

They got pissy, but that's the last we heard of it.

We came to an agreement with Southampton to revise clauses to the Bale deal after the fact.

Southampton later regretted it when we sold Bale for 90m, but no laws were broken.

A player under contract is worth whatever their club deems he is worth to them..... No court would get involved in that and the basis of a 3rd party gripe.

Funny thing is PSG actually took Betis to court over it, not sure what happened though...

Doubt they sell Gordon for a fee we'd be happy with, but he'd be an interesting project at wingback imo.
I don't want Gordon at a silly HG English premium price, He has determination & tenacity, but so did Andros Townsend.

I've seen a stats analysis on another forum, which is All Red for attacking qualities and All Green for defensive skills.

Gordon definitely isn't better than Kulu, & will never have his guile & football intelligence. So I agree that perhaps Conte sees Gordon as a player he could convert into a RWB.

Bastoni, Gvardiol, Torres to Lenglet feels extremely underwhelming.

If one is keen to be underwhelmed, then yes..... Afterall the chronology of reported interest is:

- Torres (last summer: "no CL/no thanks")

< Enter Conte >

- Bastoni (doesn't want to leave)
- Torres (Lo Celso inspired?) / Ndicka / Bremer
- Lenglet (Fans "Meh")
- Gvardiol (Fans: Jizz)

Lenglet would most likely mean one of two things:

We get 2 CBs or we can't get the guy we want and Conte is backing Davies & Lenglet to tide us over until we can; rather than piss away 40m+ on someone he doesn't really want.

With the state of the world today that's liking placing a bet on black and red and the ball landing on 0.

It looks if you haven't kept yourself updated on the WOKE movement...

This was a Septic Peg quote from the early 90's. Before some fucker decided to be awkward and declare they're neither a man nor a woman and another fucker took them seriously. If a dude wants to put a dress on and call himself a girl - fine. I'll call him her. If a dude dresses like a dude, looks like a dude, talks like a dude and walks like a dude I'm gonna call him a dude.

Yeah pique is correct, but people often get confused and use peak.

Not only are genders confusing in 2022, but the majority of the population are barely literate.

Don't see any top team willing to spend 40-50m on DCL tbh.

Where are people getting this info that we've taken money out of the war chest from?

If we have indeed taken money out it means either:

a) We're paying a release clause on someone so have to pay a lump sum, or
b) We're paying chunks of players such as Romero and Kulu off in addition to some up front payments

I doubt even the oil clubs just pay 100% fee up front anymore.

Is this where selling Gordon makes the most sense for them. As a homegrown player his book value is zero, so anything they sell him for would be profit?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Rich's "book value" is 14m.......

3 questions remain:

- How much profit do they need to beat FFP?
- How much would they target for Rich vs how much they'd want for Gordon....?

Spurs "beat reporter" (in US jargon) Ally Gold reported it:

Can you explain why profit is important for FFP?

Isn’t this just about cumulative profit over the course of a season to include the total value of deals agreed this season?

The only thing that matters is how much a player is sold for because the entirety of that value is what counts for FFP. Staggered payments have no bearing.

This is my understanding but happy to be corrected.

TBH, I'm not 100% sure that "book value" does tie in to the notion of "profit/loss" as defined by FFP.

......If it does it's on a convoluted financial accounting basis involving asset depreciation, ammortisation etc.

.....Rather than simply purchases vs sales.

Staggered payments have no bearing.

Yeh, that's the other 'column' on the balance sheet.

If (big if) doing this leads to a statement signing like Hakimi or Martinez then thats great. If it leads to Bremer coming in as well as Lenglet then all good. If its solely Lenglet instead of our supposed top 3 targets then yes i think its underwhelming. Mind you its in Sport which is possibly lower than the Sun so could well be total bollocks.
