Moura and Son are 30. Kane is 29.

Yes, we need to spend 50m+ on a younger striker.
I didn't say we don't. But what is more important? Levy is not going to fork out 200 million as some believe. With Conte's system we need the 3 CBs doing the work of 5 defenders. We've also seen last season that we have huge lack in the attacking department. We have no one that is actually inventive. When we play against teams that park the bus, we draw or loose. Kane used to have to drop back to AM in order to help out. Arguably the world's best CF playing AM. It's such a waste.

Richarlison has potential to grow. Moura pretty much has reached his ceiling.

The question though should be, 'Do we need to spend 50 million on Richarlison when, right now, he isn't that much more of a better player than Moura. They aren't the creative midfielders we need ( (Eriksen Type). Is the money not better invested elsewhere on the park, eg WBs, a GK, a AM (as mentioned), a world class CB.

I believe Conte must be the most frustrated manager around.
Why would he be frustrated when his priority apparently is not a "creative midfielder"?

I’m comfortable with the currently likeliest signings.

Richarlison wouldn’t have been my first choice but as others have pointed out, averaging 11 goals a season at a young age across 4 seasons for an awful Everton side is promising. The one season he didn’t hit double figures, the primary goalscorer was DCL. As for the seemingly high fee, Liverpool have just paid £64m, potentially rising to £85m, for someone 2 years younger who’s had one great season in the Portuguese top flight. Strikers cost a lot, it’s fine.

Spence has a lot of unknown, only had the one good season behind him and at a lower level, but the raw ingredients seem to add up. He has the dynamism that we’re surely lacking in that position, seems comfortable on the ball and happy to overlap or cut in, and is extremely self confident, which is important and probably a big reason why he stood out when he did play premier league opposition last season. I was impressed with him against us in the FA cup 2.5 years ago. I also think ready made to class wingbacks are at a premium, so someone on his trajectory makes sense.

Lenglet seems to be an unpopular signing, and understandably given that the last two seasons have been bad from him. Even accounting for the circus that Barcelona has been, it’s not going to inspire confidence. He barely played last season and in 20/21 he was all over the place, seemingly never reigning his confidence from that shocker v Munich. However, he was more than good the in his Barcelona career up to that point, and was one of the best young centre backs in Europe Best going to Barcelona. His ability on the ball is better than every centre back we currently have so will improve us building from the back dramatically (comparable to Jan and Toby), and we have to trust that our manager can work on his defensive game as effectively as he has with Davies. Dier, Romero and Sanchez. If our top target for the role aren’t attainable then this try before you buy option makes so much sense, and improves our options. As I said previously, the very worst outcome is that we at least have more than just Ben Davies who can play that position.

📢 ⚪ Surprise at #Tottenham. Close to joining Antonio Conte's staff is Gianni Vio. A wizard of set pieces, he was among the secrets of Italy's European Championship victory (Bonucci's goal in the final against England came from one of his plays) ⏳ 🏴 #THFC

I love Lucas but Richy is levels above him. He is far more versatile. And did all that in shitty Everton and Watford teams. Moura has had the likes of Kane, Son, etc around him.
I don’t see that as an argument of comparison. It’s easier to stand out in shit teams if you are above average and more difficult in good teams because the bar is so high. This is not only in football, but in most competitive sports.

That being said, I think Richarlison can be better than Moura and I’m interested to see how he will do here.

The thousands of links and the wait for what he wants. He is used to joining clubs that fork out the cash. When they go for a player, they pay and they get the player. He stayed that he would like to get all his players before pre season. I guess he's going to get his wish.
Conte's system is not dependent on "creative CM" so I doubt he'll be upset if he's not getting one. Besides, apart from a brief interest in Eriksen, there is no creative CM Spurs have been heavily linked with in this window.

Adding another profile to his coaching staff doesn't seem like a person ready to leave Spurs at any time soon...
Besides, it was about time that Spurs finally employed a wizard

The Atleti chairman Enrique Cerezo said yesterday that they had to raise €40 million before they can buy anyone. Plus they've gone over the €100 million p/a limit on wages. Their well-publicised no1 target is Dortmund's Axel Witsel who will come on a free but even so, they are talking about having to shift Griezmann first to free up the wages.

Cerezo did say they're looking for a right back but the name that's most frequently mentioned is Celtic's Josip Juranovic, who you imagine would be a whole lot cheaper than Emerson and be on much lower wages.

I'd say that Football Outsider is talking out of his hole.

To be fair, Emerson’s agent has been talking to Atleti, he has said so himself (he did say he had other clients besides Emerson though).

If it’s true their also interested in Lo Celso, not a wild thought to think we’re looking at a potential swap deal

Our defence - Romero, Davies, Dier, Tanganga, Sanchez, Rodon, Royal, Sess, Reguillon, Doherty, Peresic

Our midfield stands at - PEH, Bentaucar, Skipp, Sarr, Bissouma, Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso.

Our attack - Kulu, Kane, Son, Moura, Scarlett (bergjwin is all but gone)

So, likelihood is we will get money from player sales (Bergjwin 25m, Lo Celso 25m, Winks 15m, 20m Reggie, Rodon 10m, Royal 25m)...That could be well over 100m to add to the already 150m made available.

He's a good right full back. Could even fill in at right centre back in a back 3. So I'm not sure about the wisdom of this if the plan is to rely on Doherty and an unproven Spence.
when doherty has played with continuity he proved to be very good as RWB in the conte system
said that, I see him as a back-up, with someone other than spence as first XI player (I'd like nahuel molina).
emerson struggled as RWB and also the possibility of playing RCB is only theory, so his sell is fair imo

Yes, we need to spend 50m+ on a younger striker.

Or we wait until we actually need one, which really could be another 4 or 5 years away with Kane still only being 28 (not 29 until a months time) and in the meantime we see if the likes of Parrot or Scarlett step up?

We don't need to be spending £50m on a striker just yet. No need and he'll get itchy feet sooner or later.
