Timewise Gordon's transfer could easily have been discussed whilst the to clubs negotiating about Richarlison - so could be very quick to do so he could be on the plane to South Korea in a week if that's the plan.

The total add ons for Dele were to get to a fee of £40m, of which first £10m payable after 20 appearances. Maybe deal is to write off all add ons in return for a smaller fee......

Sounds like a grace but I wonder whether writing off the potential Dele fees helps the owners financial position eg they don’t have to put it on balance sheet which helps with a prospective sale of the club

Dont think forgoing the Dele payments creates much of an advantage for the balance sheet. If they sell Gordon and take Dele on at a notional 20 million, they'll have amortisation costs. There is a literal value to it though, especially if they are paying Dele huge money and afraid to play him. 20-25 for Gordon and the Dele payments would be a lot to turn down.
But he's ETH's no.1 target. He's not being presented by the media as a failure. They'd have painted it as Man United taking him from Barcelona as the bigger club.
Truth is, even a crippled Barcelona is a better place for him than United.

Totally agree! Davies is one of our most under appreciated players. His blocks in key moments saved us on numerous occasions. He is a key players for us not doubt about it.
He had a fantastic season under Conte
