So assuming Spence is done at 20m (with add-ons) then we've done:

- Perisic: Free
- Forster: Free
- Bissouma: 30m
- Richarlison: 60m
- Lenglet: Loan
- Spence: 20m

Total incomings: 110m

CCV - 6m
Bergjwin - 27m

Total outgoings: 33m

Current net spend: 77m

Likely sales:
- Winks: 15m
- Reguilon: 20m
- Gio: 20m

Potential additional sales:
- Rodon: 15m
- Emerson: 20m

If our likely sales go through we'd be at 22m net spend. Any additional sales and we will have a negative net spend.

We still have plenty of ammo to make a big statement.

I think the 6 signings have massively improved the squad and made us more complete but if we really want to be an elite team we need a final push.

Pau Torres and Lautauro Martinez for 100m - GET IT DONE!

So you’re Not a top player if you haven’t played in the CL. Plenty of crap players played in the CL.
Djimi Traore has a winners medal and he is possibly the worst left back Liverpool have ever had.

Don't change the argument please, it's wasn't about being a top player it was about being one of the best midfielders in Europe which was what was said originally.

Ah the classic Djimi Traore example lol...yes crap players have played and won in the CL but I used the CL as an example about playing at the top level, playing those sort of matches at that level for a club like ours consistently proves that you belong amongst the best.

Ndombele played a couple of worldies against Barca, City an PSG and everyone thought he would be a world beater, what happened when he made the step up to a big club and a big league?

Not that I'm saying that Bissouma will go the same way as Ndombele but my point is that it's way too premature to say that he's one of the best mids in Europe based on a couple of matches, you're literally putting him amongst players who produce at a high level on a consistent basis. he ain't there yet.

I think we'll get another CB in this window, but let's see.

Virtually no chance of that being a HG though, so the plot thickens.....

Gil/ Sarr won't make the CL squad, and very likely to be both loaned out. Maximum they'll stay till Jan to get some Conte training and League Cup matches, before being loaned out then.

UCL. Domestic we easily make squad requirements. But if we want to fight for trophies on multiple fronts, we need big and balanced squads in both UCL and PL.

Don't see the issue in keeping one or both then......

They'd both be back of the queue for CL games anyway.

Rodon out for a non-HG CB is fine.

Yeah we can keep them for League Cup initially but I'm more concerned about having a full and balanced squad for CL.
I have a sneaky feeling we will be in for either Guehi or Maddison. After securing 1 of those 2, we can afford for the other to be non HG (Bremer, Torres, Paqueta etc.)

Absolutely. I like Minje.

Happy Jim Carrey GIF

I cannot see how both Gil and Sarr get in the squad due to HG numbers and squad numbers (23 man squad = 2 players per position plus a 3rd GK).

Likely both go out on loan unless we cannot get better players in.
If we do exercise the rumoured buy back clause for KWP, the numbers & squad depth situation change significantly.

KWP is not just Association-trained, like Spence. He's full HG Spurs, so with Kane, Skipp, Austin or Whiteman as GK3, and KWP, we'd have 4 club HG. We would no longer have to keep one of Winks or Tanganga for HG reasons.

Also, although KWP is primarily a RWB, he did play on the left for Soton last season. With Perisic, Spence, Sess & KWP, we surely would be looking to sell one or even both of Doherty & Emerson.

Another conversation with Hasenhüttl arguably sowed the seeds for Walker-Peters’ elevation. “He said: ‘If you want to play for England, it’s important you show them you can play on the left as well,” Walker-Peters says. “He said: ‘Look at Trippier. At the Euros, he played left-back some of the time.’ I’d say versatility is definitely a quality that Gareth appreciates.”

Known primarily as a right-back, Walker-Peters has starred on the left for Southampton this season. That said, Southgate has used him on the right in training and it could be where he makes his debut.

“I feel just as comfortable in either position,” Walker-Peters says. “It was a bit of a surprise to people when I started playing left-back this season but I’ve been doing it for a long time, throughout the England youth ranks – including at the Under-20 World Cup.”

Kyle Walker-Peters happy to ‘prove people wrong’ after England call-up

So now your want to compare Modric with Traore?

OK

Bye...

:contefacepalm2:
He literally said he's not comparing him to Modric, did you read past the first line?

Having said that, I completely understand and agree with the fervent no. He's not given one single inkling that he would be a worthwhile buy, at any club he's played at, even Wolves had him on and off the bench more than starting. He has no consistency whatsoever, which is why his stock has plummeted.

I really can't see Conte wanting to keep any player to only play in PL - its a tough league and few/no 'easy' games so not likely to play if kept ........ so loan out for Sarr and Gil far more likely to get regular game time v keep and play only a few mins in PL
All depends how many non-HG we can sell.
Currently we have 22 UEFA non-HG. We are only allowed 17, of course.
But it must be odds on GLC, Ndombele, Rodon and Reguilon are sold or loaned.
That brings it down to 18.
Assuming we sign a new CB and AM who are non-HG that brings it back up to 20.
That almost certainly would mean Royal and Sanchez will be moved on leaving 18.
I reckon Conte will loan Gil and keep Sarr bringing it to the perfect 17.

But Gibson has been the difficult one, the asshole in this particular deal👍👍

I wouldn't doubt that, i really meant that Levy didn't bow to any pressure. Fans can call him what they want but Levy is as cool as a fucking cucumber when it comes to dealing with transfers.

I bet bottom dollar that Paratici learns more from Levy on transfer deals than Levy does from Paratici (not talking identifying talent) just the art of the deal.

I'd be happy to see KWP back at the right price - think he was shafted by Poch not giving him playing minutes.

I do wonder if the assumption at Spurs is our HG issue could be solved next season with Parrott and/or White coming into squad as Club trained, or even Tanganga back after a loan as Club trained, and even Etete as HG and in turn that might mean KWP deal is marginally less attractive now.
