Why would we need permission?

It’s likely more that they’re desperate to flog him. They must have to get so many players off their books.
Wouldn't know what to make of this one. I think one potential weakness for us is depth in the RW position.

Don't think Richarlison is great on that side.. Lucas is Lucas.. dunno if Conte fancies Gil and he's a year or two away from being productive (if ever). Would Depay be good on the right? I don't know. Maybe more so in Conte's system (rw/10) than as a wide RW.

For a guy who seems to like being centre of attention/main man it seems a strange fit. Also more than likely a groundless link pushed by Barca/agents. At the same time.. I wouldn't turn my nose up at a guy who might come in and contribute 10-15 goals in all comps.

I like Depay. Only really saw him during his Lyon days though. Haven’t watched him once for Barca.

As you say, seems like he can be a bit of a difficult customer. Feels like the sort of signing we might have gone for a few years ago; bit of a bargain, cheapish, wages feasible.

Can’t be less effective than Lucas. We won’t but him, will be a last minute loan of anything imo

Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn has addressed the club's interest in Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Kane has been linked with a move away from Spurs for some time and publically angled for a transfer to Manchester City last summer only to end up staying put. Standard Sport understands Kane is open to discussing a new contract with the club.

Bayern have been credited with interest this summer having lost Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, but Kahn was coy when asked if the German giants could make a move this summer or next.

"He is under contract at Tottenham," he told Bild. "Sure, he is an absolute top striker, but that's all a dream of the future.

"So let's see what happens."

Honestly, I can't see why people are posting Kane may leave this summer.

Kane is not going anywhere this summer.

Kane won't go to chelsea, Bayern can't afford him, Mancity don't need him.

It's the time of the year, papers talk rubbish.

If Levy sold Kane, Conte would "keeel" him.

And then leave the club, blowing up the "project".

So this isn't happening.

However, we almost certainly will have to give Harry a new, lucrative, contract before the summer is out.

Dont you know that everyone on TFC is over 6 foot tall, has a muscular physique and is a 10/10 in the looks department. It is one of the requirements to post on these forums

I'm 6'3", overweight, receding and have a face like a slate layers nail bag.

Another theory down the toilet wot?

If City were priced out of a move for him, Bayern obviously can’t afford him. Their record signing is Lucas Hernandez for €80m/£70m, we’d ask for at least double for H. I don’t see him wanting to miss out on the chance to beat Shearer’s PL record and I also really don’t see him wanting to learn German (imagine his face when he learns there’s 3 different words for the word ‘the’) even though every time I’ve gone it feels like 95% of them speak the Queen’s English.

Oh he could.

Whilst Lucas might not set the World alight on the pitch, it's painfully evident that he is one of those players that adds a huge amount to the dressing room harmony.
If the reports on Depay are accurate, he'll have exactly the opposite effect. This would do far more harm than adding a dozen goals will do to the good.

Cheap option or not, I'm personally very wary about this one.
