If that's true, Ronaldo has no class. Atletico, really? After how many years and cups with Real? I have no love for either, but that would piss me off as a Real fan. Why not Liverpool? Or Milan?
That guy has never loved anyone or anything as much as he loves himself. Honestly, not sure he even loves himself, just some strange obsession with being the best footballer in the world.

A football career is over by age 40 if you're REALLY lucky, dread to think the state he's gonna be in when he has to retire.

Yeah, he'd be in the Bissouma category of transformative signings rather than Richarlison/Spence type decent but nothing earth shattering.

But where would he play? In Conte's formation, we don't play a number 10.

We have on occasion taken off Kulu and played Moura in a central role behind Kane and Son; but I am not sure we would spend 50m on a player that doesn't fit our preferred formation.

Our most vulnerable position is our front 3. We have Kane, Son, Kulu as our 'best' pick; with Richarlison, Moura, Gil, Scarlett as the backups. Suffice to say; an injury to 2 of our best 3 would be a disaster for our attack. With Son having hamstring issues and Kane's ankles - is likely they will miss 5-10 games.

If we are spending big money; it should be on another player who can play in the front 3. I'd love to see us test the waters on Ivan Tooney.

Teams don't generally sit deep against Lester; how do we know this to be true?

I've asked this before...... No one took up the question.
There isn't 100%.

In the 10 fixtures that we failed to win in the PL under Conte, Maddison scored or assisted (or both) in 6 of the same fixtures for Leicester.

Whilst there is no way to know/guarantee if he would replicate it here, I think its a good sign.

You say spend big on an attacker and then suggest Tooney? If anybody spent more than 10 mil on Tooney then they are incredibly dumb and probably spend too much time on FIFA.

Also your mind just goes straight to thinking all our front three will be injured at the same time. In the last two seasons Son and Kane missed only 4 matches each.

We don’t need to spend another 50 mil on another striker.

He'd not start every game but he fills a tactical/technical niche that none of our current players do. Same as when we got Bissouma.

We needed a fairly technical DM who could retain the ball, and help build up from the back, we got that in Bissouma.

We need a CM who is more attack minded, someone who doesn't waste the VERY good chances PEH wastes almost every game. So he might sit on the bench against City and Liverpool, but against Wolves, Brentford, Spam etc. where almost a solo pivot of Bissouma is enough Maddison can be huge in getting through the parked bus.

These are exactly the kind of games that seperate us from City right now. Reliably beatt he mid-table teams, and we're a legit title contender.

Only missed 4 games each in last 2 seasons? With Son's hamstring issues; likelihood is that he will need to be rested far more often.

Kane had an injury free season 21/22 - but he was also missing for the first 15 games; only netting 1 goal and 1 assist in 15 games.

RW in 343. He scored 4 and assisted 6 in 13 games there last season.

Who is tooney?

Also, I was looking through who scoreds player ratings the other day and it caught my eye that Toney was 11th in the whole league.

I take those scores with a grain of salt, but to say Toney is not worth more than 10m is “incredibly dumb” as you put it.

Honestly think Gio is similar in ability to Maddison, don't understand why we'd pass on Eriksen in favour of either.

Given that United have given Eriksen a 3 year deal; I think it is safe to assume that Eriksen was seeking a long term agreement.

I'm pretty sure we would have welcomed him back; but our offer more likely for 12 months; with an option for a further 12 months.

Maddison seems to be a player that fans want to be signed but there doesn't seem to be any activity from the club to substantiate that desire. I'm also thinking that we're leaving it very late in the transfer window from Leicester's point of view - they've got no time to replace him and without Maddison I think their Premier League status would be at risk.

Leicester would be crazy to sell without spending at least a year in advance researching a replacement.

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in a deal to bring Josko Gvardiol to the Premier League this summer.

What’s the talk?
Transfer Focus

That’s according to reports via The Express, who claim that, despite Spurs’ earlier capture of Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan, Fabio Paratici remains interested in the RB Leipzig centre-back – for whom the Bundesliga side are believed to be demanding a figure in the region of £80m to part with this summer.

However, a further report by Media Foot recently claimed is it Woolwich who are leading the race for the Croatia international’s signature, with Mikel Arteta believed to consider the 20-year-old a perfect replacement for Gabriel – who has been linked with a €30m (£25.5m) move to Juventus.

Arteta will be fuming
Considering the sheer amount of potential Gvardiol undoubtedly possesses, it is easy to see why both Tottenham and Woolwich would be interested in a deal to bring the Leipzig starlet to north London ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

Indeed, over his 29 Bundesliga appearances in 2021/22, the £102m-rated talent was a rock in the heart of Domenico Tedesco’s defence, helping Die Roten Bullen keep seven clean sheets, as well as making an average of 1.8 interceptions, 1.6 tackles, 1.9 clearances and winning 5.9 duels – at a success rate of 58% – per game.

The £21k-per-week defender also impressed in an attacking capacity, scoring two goals, registering two assists and creating four big chances for his teammates, in addition to completing an average of 59.3 passes, 3.4 long balls, 1.3 dribbles and taking 0.8 shots per fixture.

These returns saw the player who Ivica Olic dubbed “extraordinary” average a quite astonishing SofaScore match rating of 7.10, ranking him as Leipzig’s fourth-best performer in the top flight of German football last time out.

As such, considering his incredibly impressive returns last season, in addition to the fact that the 10-cap international is still just 20 years of age, it is clear to see why Gvardiol is attracting the attention of both Spurs and the Gunners in the summer market – as the Croat would undoubtedly be an extremely welcome addition to either Antonio Conte’s or Arteta’s defensive options next season.

And, with reports suggesting that it is Woolwich who are currently in pole position for the centre-back, should Paratici manage to steal the Leipzig starlet away from a move to The Emirates this summer, it would be an outcome that will simultaneously leave Arteta fuming and Spurs supporters buzzing – all the more reason for the sporting director to launch a late offensive.

How is that a strange obsession, surely every professional player should want to be that or else what’s the point?
