We'll sign Udogie and I think that will be it for incomings in this window

I think it depends entirely upon how quickly we can get some players out of the door and off the wages bill - in particular highest earners Ndombele and Lo Celso but also Reguilon - plus loan out Gil if we are bringing in an AM.

So we have 3 weeks left to sell/loan out at least 3 or 4 players and bring in anyone else who makes squad better

The one thing in our favour is Lo Celso wants t be playuing regularly to get into Argentina squad, and maybe similar with Reguilon and Spain.

That's gone quiet, suggests that it's not happening.
Stuff can happen quickly.

Just last week there were talks that Newcastle is in for him. Which suggests that he might be available.
If that is the case I see no reason why we could not just jump in right before closing, match the offer + personal terms and get him.

Though it does seem that Chelsea are willing to write an empty check for Fofana, which would decrease the need to cash in on Maddisson.
On the other hand, it does not change the fact that JM has only 2 years left on his contract. So Leicester options are most likely either to sell him for 50-60 mil now (and gobble up 140 mil from sales of 2 players) or wait another year and sell him for 25-40 mil.

So we'll see.

Everything is very dynamic and if it is true that we failed to reach agreement regarding Zaniolo, then we can go in for alternative that is Maddisson.

p.s - forgot to add - perfectly possible that you are right as well. And that we have ended our interest or deal is dead in the water for some other reason.

yes but with some conditions (I believe something like the kulu's deal, 4th place and appearances)
they can't refuse 50M today (but it would be insane to offer that amount of money because the player has a bad injury history)
Kulus deal was an obligation but it came forwards in time if those conditions were met, we were always obliged to pay (as I have seen reported).

Lo Celso was an option with a high initial loan fee, we could have walked away.

The question is do we/does Conte want him - doesn't sound like it if Newcastle were moving in for him then surely we would have shown some interest.

Time to bin this one off.

Big money.
Poor track record.
Jose fucking us around.

Other fish in the sea.

Heard/Read we have been scouting Kudus over at Ajax for quite some time. More of an AM than a winger and know nish about the player aside from positioning.

Not blown away by his numbers, but haven't done the eye test so could be deceiving.

I really hope not. If Gil goes, which seems likely, we'll be reduced to Moura as our only attacking option if we get 1 injury or suspension to our 4 attackers. You could probably get away with it if you had a good youngster but Etete sold and Parrott and Scarlett loaned we have nothing. Even the U21's played without a forward the other night. Could be a wing forward or AM but we need someone.

Not exactly true.

We still have Perisic in our books. Who has been winger most of his career.

So considering that we seem to go into season with wingback options of Perisic, Sessegnon, Royal, Doherty and Spence - at this point I doubt we will sell any of them - then we would still have 4 players left even if we use Perisic as wide-forward.

Another thing is that if we would be able to get in an attacking midfielder (like Maddisson) then other alternative would to use 2 more defensive / controlling CM's and 1 more creative behind 2 attacking players. So 5-3-2 if you will.
But yea, that would assume getting in suitable player for the role.

Not sure drafting in a potential first team starter elsewhere to cover up front is great. Especially given Sessegnons injurys over the last few seasons. I think the club know this and thats why they're looking.
