Anthony Gordon has done nothing to prove that he is an upgrade over Gil for any amount of.
Swapping one player with little going for him for one with HG status and a bit of physicality makes some semblance of sense.
The money involved however does not. Make no mistake, Gil has done absolute nothing in his career to warrant "giving him a try" he was a punt we took, more to get Lamela off the books to a team who didn't have actual cash to give us.
He's been pretty good in 2022. Probably better than any other year of his career.
He has 12 goals and 0 assists. I reckon I could probably find a fair few players who have either had similar or better that are younger and worth their price.
Some felt that with RA having to step down that the club would be fucked.
But that is not the case and as you can see they continue to invest heavily into the playing side of the business as previously.
They are not going anywhere so the quest for our club continues but is a difficult one under these circumstances.
He's second only to Kane and Son for goals this year in the PL
Zaha is a good player. Not what we need at his price point & age but a good footballer. Been excellent for Palace as the most advanced attacking player.

Who else could we get Zaniola isn't coming some of the other names mentioned are not good enough so it doesn't leave us with a lot to work with.

Don't know, but a player whose best performances are coming as the 'tip of the spear' when starting from the left isn't what we need, we have that in Son & Richarlison is already the back-up. We need a RW alternative to Kulu, that isn't a Zaha.
We should look at Salah rather than Zaha. He plays on the right and Liverpool will be looking to rebuild.
You obviuosly missed the headline all over the place where salah just signed a new £300 k + per week long term contract.

If we were gonna take a 1 in a million shot then I'd like it to be at someone like Chiesa if he has recovered well from injury. But again, it's a total 1 in a million transfer, so..
