I know you posted this in response to someone else, but I'm interested to know what you think determines if a player is available. And as far as the positions you are complaining we didn't fill, have you seen what was available for these positions? Can you name me a player that was available and that we wanted that we didn't go for?
6 goals in 32 league appearances last season plus 2 assists. If that’s who they spunk the big money on, that’s a relief. Isak is really talented, uses his body well, has potential, but he isn’t a superstar, not the player who’s going to fire them to top 4 any time soon. I think he scored like 10 total goals last year for La Real. Good player not great one.
Might be a bargain for us, but the prices we pay should not be inflated just because we have more money than 99% of the rest of the clubs in Europe. We should be paying whatever a Lyon or Sevilla or Lazio would be willing to pay. And it's not even like there are a ton of clubs interested in him for us to go over the top. With 1 year on his contract, it's 10 million take it or leave it. Wouldn't go a penny over for a player that will play 15-20% of the available playing time at best.Considering some of the prices being banded about, 18m for one of the most creative players in Europe would be a bargain.

Getting the band back together.....Aurier going to Forest on a free transfer.
- Defender Serge Aurier is set to be the latest arrival at Nottingham Forest
- The former Tottenham player is set to sign for Forest on a free transfer
- Forest remain interested in Japhet Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon from Spurs

The post I was responding to said he was "unreal" when that team had a target for him to cross to. I disagree with that take. He had one decent season. If he's not "a good option", then why would we sign him? Moura can do a better job in the same position and he loves Spurs. I don't see the squad creating a lot of space for Royal to ping in crosses either.First off, I’m not saying Traore is a good option or anything. But to measure it based on successful % of crosses is a bit flawed. Having watched Traore play, I can confidently say the majority of those crosses are coming from 1v1 (or 1v2) opportunities. He has to take a man on to get a cross off because he doesn’t play for a side that creates space for him.
I don't think Adama is even being considered as a replacement for Royal rather than a backup, but you're saying Adama's crosses are poor because he's marked, while Royal doesn't cross if he's marked. Poor cross, no cross, not much of a difference there in my eyes. Royal is definitely a better defender.Compare that to Royal who basically only crosses the ball when he’s unmarked.
Naturally. But his crosses are still shit. At least Royal can defend.Naturally, it is far easier to get a cross off when a defender is not 2 feet away trying to block it and taking away 70% of the crossing angle.
But he doesn't have the touch to make that pass. If he did, he'd have more than 14 assists in 8+ seasons.Traore’s strength is not his crossing technique but the attention he demands from the opposition. He almost always draws at least 2 defenders… which means one less defender somewhere on the pitch. All he has to do is float a ball to the far post and now there’s a numerical advantage in the box.
Sure, let's just pay 18 million for a player worth half that and who will feature for 15-20 mins every 2-3 games. That'll show everyone that we are acting like a big club.Be heartbreaking wouldn't it. How on earth would we cope

We approach a club for a player Conte is interested in and the player is keen on a move, wants to move to us, and the club is willing to sell. If one of these three conditions aren't met, then the player Conte is interested in is not available. Obviously if a player Conte is interested in is out of contract, then only the player wanting to move to us needs to be satisfied.I know you posted this in response to someone else, but I'm interested to know what you think determines if a player is available.
Is it only those who are out of contract? Those who have put in a transfer request?
Or does the selling club have to publicly advertise the players availability?

Always wondered where this lad would end up.
Interesting buy. A lot of money for a player who really hasn't produced the numbers you'd expect for that fee.
