My view is to ignore this thread until Monday of next week. We’re clearly in shift the players mode and just doing enquiries and behind the scenes talks with incomings.

Once the outgoings actually put pen to paper then I expect we will go all out mid-next week for an AM, try for a CB but ultimately end up empty handed. Gun to my head it looks like we’ll sign one AM but that’s it, maybe a youth prospect or something.

I'm not sure what ENIC has to do with my question regarding available players that we are after, or where I brought ENIC up in the conversation. It just makes you look silly when, instead of answering a simple question, you make stuff up about what I said and change the topic.

Not easy to do. On points we are the 3rd best team in 2022 and only marginally off Liverpool. Perisic improves us. Bissouma probably will. Lenglet and Richardson at least push the first eleven to improve and have a shout of getting in. Spence is unknown but could be unreal and most likely will get into first 11.

Richarlison couldn't feature in one. Lenglet couldn't feature in one. Surprised Bissouma hasn't played more given our weakness has clearly been getting heavily outnumbered in the middle.
Fraser and Spence aren't playing any time soon.

Regarding a CB, which one should we go for, Antonio? VvD? De Ligt? Gvardiol? Bastoni? Rudiger? Maybe we should unsettle Ruben Dias so he would rather join us instead of that dump of a team he's playing for.

Sometimes a player may not look like they're world class but they make other tick. There was a time when Carrick wasn't overly appreciated and he firmly fell into this category.
I'd even say Jenas did - often didn't look brilliant himself but the whole team was better when he was in it.

I just cannot comprehend how many people are so utterly oblivious to how pointless it would be to sign a player who's only role in the game is "creative midfielder"
We don't need it with the forward players at our disposal. We outscore almost everyone. We create plenty of chances. We are playing a system that is maybe too modern for some people who grew up in the 1990's and need a name for each position.

Quite a lot of hypothetical going on here I don't think we are as good as some of you think we are.

You keep saying this but there's been pretty solid links to the likes of Paqueta & Malinovski from the club, and if they aren't creative midfielders then what are they? We were also linked to Maddison but it seems either Conte wasn't on board or the finances didn't make sense.

I think it's pretty clear that we want someone in that vein, but just aren't prepared to spend huge on the position.
