You seem to be missing VERY basic and fundamental point.
New and bigger stadium gives the club stronger cashflow for the future. It means we can play higher salaries to players.
I am 100% sure that if it was not for the new stadium, we would have lost either Son or Kane within past few years.
But right now we can go out and pay them + some others 300 or 400 kpw and it would not matter much.

So that is long term plan and effect of the stadium.

CL ? FFS we have yet to kick the ball there, how and why are you trying to claim like ship from UEFA HQ has just docked in London and they are currently loading us bags full of crisp bills as we speak ?!?!

Despite all that I agree with you - I do believe we have both means (liquidity) and willingness to spend on right player. Question is - how much? Current market has gone full-blown mad. Anthony close to 100 mil. Fofana and Gvardiol ~80 mil. Isak >60 mEUR. I am not sure we should in fact go along with this shit if there is a belief we could use funds better in winter window or next summer.

We have invested >160 million euros to the squad. And there is still Kulusevski buy out clause to be added in some point in time.
Why is it essential that we would end the window pennyless and then hope and pray for the better future?
I don't personally get it - does the fact that we have say 80 mil left in bank for transfer market purposes is negative fact on it's own? Cause I do not think so personally.
Sadly not sure about the stadium anymore giving us financial power . Not Levy’s fault but we have been so unlucky with the pandemic and now a cost of living crisis that will decimate the sports , entertainment and hospitality industry. Desperately hope I am wrong but Q4 onwards things are going to get horrifically tough for so many now I fear

I mean come on ! I know Yorkshire & Lancashire arent the best of friends but at least spell Lancashire right !?!?

That's fair.

But when a player (Bastoni) says outright that he doesn't want to leave Italy there's not a lot anyone can do.

No doubt some will say of we offered him/club more money then he'd come.
Probably true but unrealistic.

Don't think I want players who don't want to come until the money is too high to turn down.

That dude is literally a Woolwich fan. Why would you even post that? There’s already enough mentally ill morons here no need to post moron pollution.

Coulda made the same point without the shithousey mental health reference......

That's numerous times you've done this now.

A polite request: Pls refrain.

I’m a bit sick of seeing people ask for lists of “available” players in any position. They are ALL fucking available Ronaldo was available, Neymar Jr was available, Bale, Messi, Sala, Lukaku, De Bruyne, Haaland and on and on.

You just have to pay the asking price and be a desirable place to go for the player.

Give me a list of available RWB’s is such a fucking miserable and stupidly pointless request to somehow justify why we have not bought one.
Genuinely such a ridiculous post.

It’s not fifa! so much effort goes into a transfer.

1. Players can be unavailable, Kane last summer. That’s why we have contracts
2. And prob most importantly the player actually has to want to come to your club and agree wages and terms and bonuses Etc etc

It’s just not that fucking that we Dan have who we like as long as we pay up.
ridiculous

Wow!!

And posted on a site that that's actively supports and is Partnered with the mental health charity CALM

It's just a football forum for God's sake

I'm not sure who should be more ashamed of themselves. You, or the 13 people who have so far agreed with this shit :disdain:

Was surprised to see some very decent posters agreeing with that tbh, but ah well..

Dier and Davies signed before Poch, Alderweireld signed because his Belgian colleague was already at Spurs and long stranding links to Spurs.

Son came as he/his agent were unhappy at his previous German club refusing to allow him to compete at Asian Games (not a FIFA tournament and takes a month out of season) important to Son as winning them game him exemption from National Service where he would have lost 2 years of football from age 28 (and a fortune in wages). Levy agreed to let him go to next tournament after signing - he captained South Kore to winning Asian Games making him biggest sports star in South Korea - and very grateful that Spurs kept their word which is why Son signed a new contract when he did.

So Wanyama - you are probably right even though with one year as a top footballer and 3 always injured, not a great signing. Congratulations though. You got one right out of 5,
Dier and Davies were not here prior to Poch. Jesus Christ surely you could have bothered your arse to do a quick fact check on that!

Son is someone Poch has said he wanted back when he was at Southampton. All that BS you’ve spouted about his Military situation has absolutely zero to do with why he signed.

Also you’re telling me the only reason Spurs signed Alderweireld was because his mate was here? Are you actually stupid?
