Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I see we’re at the ‘phony outrage’ stage of the transfer window.

Personally, my least favourite.

I far prefer the transition from anger to acceptance. It can sometimes produce genuinely beautiful moments of self reflection. Occasionally even profound.

Someone above mentioned Pulisic, no chance the sell him to us for anything less than 50mil.

Yeah, fuck that. The best Chelsea will get offered from elsewhere is a fee below the 25m mark, and more likely a loan with option to buy from European clubs. I don't think many not desperate English clubs will want him all that much, other than teams he will refuse to join.

His performances in this country have been remarkably mediocre.

Chelsea wouldn't sell and whilst I think he deserves some leeway given Chelsea attackers all seem to perform poorly, he's been dreadful for ages. He came on vs Southampton and it was the biggest load of nothing.

Obviously could be a situation like Kulusevski, but not for the price Chelsea would try & get from us.
As you pointed out, almost every attacker on Chelsea has been a flop. I think it has something with the system and Tuchel rather than the player(s).

Am I the only person that rates Bryan Gil?

Undeniable ability with a ball at his feet but just hasn't developed the end product yet. I get why people want him to just stay to be the back up (esp. over someone like James) but at the same time he's a player at an age where he needs to develop his game. I don't think he does that on our bench.

It's definitely possible. The only players who seem to thrive going forward in his setup are wing backs .. and even then he plays Reece James as a right centre back for some reason. Guys like Ziyech & Pulisic have sort of just looked lost apart from in very brief spells.

But it's a non-starter anyhow ... to sell to us those cunts would demand a king's ransom.

I think Conte wants bigger players. Clearly the kid has a lot of ability.

Yeah, I mean... you can criticise him for some mistakes here and there... but he can also be pretty good. He contributes at times going forward and defensively. He's a Brazilian international!! Maybe there are better WBs out there, but how many and how easy to sign? I think we're in a decent position at RWB and all 3 have the potential to improve and compete with one another for the position. It could be that we're pretty good there before long and all the papers stop with the RWB rumours and the converting wingers to RWBs rumours etc... It seems like all the rumours this summer have been about RWBs!!

Well, we have two better in our squad only.
I guess that is kind of an answer.

In our system it is not sustainable to keep playing a wingback whose decisionmaking and delivery are really poor...
