Ex-Spurs Player Clément Lenglet

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thought he was quite Vertonghen like, in demeanour and passing. Maybe more silk less grit (If he has grit and focus, yet to show/determine fully, he could be a coup!).

excellent debut IMO.

It's crazy that there were people online writing this guy off before we even signed him. It was a good performance today and one he can grow on and continue to improve.

Will be interesting to see what happens going forward because Conte trusts Davies in that role. But Lenglet has certainly giving him a headache.

It's weird, people were acting as if we didn't actually buy a defender and totally forgot about him (well we didn't buy him but you know what I mean)

If today is anything to go by he'll be a mainstay in the side.

I wonder if he gets a good run of form, would we offer to buy him in January? I'm sure Barca would want the money for their own January business.

Let's see how he goes.
The problem won't be the Barca transfer fee.

It'll be that crazy contract he's on. Like Frenkie de Jong.

Last I saw, Barca were still considering legal action against everyone involved in those insane contracts.

He looked an absolute class act at Sevilla , went to Barca and had a dodgy spell ( well that happens to a lot of them) but you never lose that ability and playing in a back three is perfect for him . He’s going to be huge for us

whats he on a week? how can they take legal action out on players they have on contracts?
See my posts and the links.

In short, Lenglet's contract seems to for c£200k per wk, and the "renewal" (over which Barca are considering legal action against their former board & the agents involved), runs for another 3-4 years.

I haven't seen details of Cuti Romero's new contract, but I bet it's not £200k per week. So we can't really do business with Lenglet permanently until his contract situation is resolved.

Interesting. If the contracts are cancelled, is this a game changer for footballers and the balance of power between players and clubs?
