Well, looks look at the GENUINE chances in the game. We had the majority of them but simply weren't clinical in front of goal. For some reason Royal seems to be getting in the best goal scoring spaces - why isn't Son / Kane / Rich occupying this space?

24 minutes - If Rich squared it to Son in space he could have got a decent shot off
25 minutes - Rich should have scored the header
28 minutes - excellent cross. 3 Spurs in the box all ball watching.
29 minutes - Royal with ball in 5 yard box. If only that fell to a striker.
41 minutes - Rich goal - offside

45 minutes - sporting should have scored. good save hugo

46 minutes - Royal hits the post with a header.
47 minutes - Royal misses tough bounce from 5 yards out. If only that fell to a striker.
70 minutes - Perisic with perfect cross into box. Kane mistimes it and misses

89 minutes - Sporting shot from outside box. Given too much space. Good save.
90, 91 - goals sporting

Sorry but we were bad today....
Strange how some bury their head and can't see that we were poor and have been so far this season but getting away with it until today.
The tactics are dreadful sit deep pass it around and hope that the front three can hold the ball up which they can't then the pressure builds again.
This team is unbalanced and under performing with the midfield constantly by passed too easily in every game, with a manager earning one of the biggest salary's in the league who can't resolve it.
This is just like watching Jose and Nuno ball all over again boring and uninspiring and so predictable.

Went to bed straight after the first goal and only getting to commenting now.

What in the hell was I watching? Was there helium in the balls? How can everyone overhit the pass every. single. time?

Where were the subs?

So confused.

They didn’t create a single chance in the first half until injury time, and pretty much same in second half.

It wasn’t a smash and grab but we generally created more and had control of the game for 90 out of 93 minutes.

Looking at the stats it would appear that you are being very charitable to Spurs. Sporting had 57% possession, 12 attempts each with Sporting 6 on target to our 5 and 582 passes to our 475. Not as one sided as we would like to think. We were dire

Conte is trying to change the way the players used to play, he wants quick transition from defence to attack, he wants quick passing. But these players are grown up with Poch, side way passing, back passing and slow gradual transition. Hence the miss placed passes in the final third. Whatever he is trying, obviously not working.
I just read he has said players are tired. After 8 games into a new season plus weekend off and tired? Then F'in rotate, ain't rocket science.
Poch? Kinell.

Fell asleep catching up with the my recording of the second half. We are a tedious watch.. tempo of our play is a killer. That said, was expecting a lot worse when I saw the result and some comments here. We controlled a lot of the second half, kept up a kind of consistent pressure/won the ball back decently and created a good few half and near chances. His use of the bench is terrible really, some of Skipp, Bissouma, Spence, Doc, Lenglet, Sess should have seen the field.. I won't be happy with him if he keeps that nonsense up.

Kane needs to up it. Son obviously. Sessegnon should be seeing a bit more of the field, Perisic is better but Sessegnon offers more direct runs beyond the opposition full back.

Came to write a comment pretty similar to this. Agree completely.

-Lack of use of the bench was awful- Romero, Bentancur, Emerson, Son and Kane should all have been subbed.

-Davies was not as good as Lenglet at LCB.

-Romero asking to be subbed was weird, and he seemed noticeably less effective going forward after being rebuffed by Conte.

-Its starting to become sad and weird that Conte won't bench Emerson for either Spence or Doherty. Guess what Conte? Your lack of attacking guts doomed us to a 0 goal game.

-Kane looked slow and lazy, and spent more time dropping deep than making runs to get on the end of Perisics crosses. Son was equally bad in possession and killed play several times with inept touches. Conte needs to bench one of the two of them sometimes- they seem to be hitting the wall from so many consecutive minutes. Playing every minute is not good for either of them, despite their stupid contractual clauses and personal egoistic desires, or whatever.

-Kulu is too good a creator to leave on the bench. Son is a counter-attacker. Richarlison can do a little of everything but is better on the LW than RW. Conte needs to learn these subtleties and rotate with them in mind.

-It was a little bit bittersweet Marcus Edwards out there. He had some great runs and touches. A microcosmic window into what might have been if we'd kept him and some of our younger lost talents.

Hope Conte can learn from this. He looked like a dinosaur today.

If you're that poor in the final 3rd with crap decisions/technical quality.
If you insist on playing a RWB who teams are happy to leave open because his final 3rd play is so poor.
If you drop your best player this season for 3 games in a row.

You deserve to lose to average teams.

Conte fuck off man, you see something isn’t working and you just refuse to change shit.

2 Nd half.. sori. no ...actually the whole game . Just boring... Worthy of Nuno and muri at their worst
Thought our ex's looked good, bergy and Edwards.. as for us...sayin that until the goals, Hugo stood out. says it all really.. looks like a return to shite negative football aka Nuno and muri ,for 80 mins and a reliance and Hope we take advantage of those big moments. As a rule of thumb Piss poor watch and even worse if you lose

Whoa. Did I read that correctly or has your grammar fucked me? Meeting Sandro (who you’ll likely never meet again or get to know as a person online or in real life ) was better than meeting the delightful Mrs P.?
I hope I read that wrong

Disagree for a joke. Tough crowd 😂

After that sloppy mess of a match last night- Conti must realise that:
Emerson isn't good enough and needs dropping
Son is in desperate need of a rest
Conti use of substitutes needs to be better, there were players dead on there feet out there.
There also needs to be a plan B

The morning after the night before……. I am not going to dwell on the performance and result.
Lisbon is an amazing city which my wife and I have really enjoyed exploring. The atmosphere pre game in Rossio Square was fantastic, the journey to the game was stress free and it’s another stadium to add to our list. But by far the best thing was meeting up with our fellow forum members deadlyledley (and his mate) and MrsP- being able to share the experience with such warm, genuine, lovely people (who share our passion and dedication for our wonderful club) was absolutely wonderful.Victories and defeats come and go and there will be plenty more of both but it is the fans who are the fabric and heartbeat of the club and both deadlyledley and MrsP are shining examples of the very best of us.
Roll on Leicester…. COYS!!!!!
