a little bit worrying is that in his post match press he said he chose bissouma over gil and lucas because gil is young and i think he said about lucas not fully fit. he should of lied and said it was a chance to change the system as the 3 up front was not working as well as he hoped.

its been made clear now that the 3 in midfield makes us far more solid and in control than the 2. the only time its worth having the 3 is if kulu is playing. son and rich dont work, especially with rich on the right. there is not enough composed quality up there with them 3

Broke all this down numerically before, but 4th is higher above par for us than 1st is for City..... Espcially as we were altogther written off after 11 games.

It's a marathon; not a sprint.....

Their current PPG now sees them finish on 101 points.... They're not good enough to sustain that; ergo it remains to be seen just how much they drop off. Even drawing can be significantly harmful.

Yes we had our moments under both of those managers.

Jol struggled to reach the CL at all and Harry at one point had VDV, Bale, Modric and the people who sat around me at the time complained about our style of play 50% of the time.

Remember one guy constantly left at 70mins shouting how we were “fucking shit and waste of my fucking money”. Became quite a funny occurrence.

I just looked at 2010/2011. 10 games played 15 points. +1GD. ……rose tinted glasses and all that.

Yeah but we still scraped it. It's not meant to be disparaging, it's just fact. We secured it on the final day & it was only in our hands during the second to last game. City also scraped it, you can scrape something & still be an impressive side.

They'd function fine without Jesus. I don't think any one injury will stop them.

They won't get 101 points but I see them as nigh on guaranteed for top 4. Again, I'm not going in to details of why I find them so impressive, as a VAP (Very Angry Poster) will be along to tell me I support them. But long story short, they remind me very strongly of us under Pochettino atm.

Without Jesus; they're fundamentally the same team as last year.......

Partey, Tierney and Tomiyasu are still brittle.
Zhaka is still a timebomb.
Odegaard; is still a fairweather player.
Ben White & Gabriel still have a rick in them.

I'm not bobbing and weaving, I asked how you forgot about the guy who has probably been the best centre back in the league this season & who didn't play for them last season. Just seemed a weird omission.

It's nobody in particular I'm referring to. But you can't discuss *them* on here with any degree of seriousness because people will inevitably come in & shout you down if you aren't essentially saying they're crap. So I mostly tip-toe around it rather than go in to detail about why I disagree with them being the same team.

On-topic is a bit of a 'utopian' ideal imo. What convo about Spurs doesn't have a sub-text of our targets and strengths vs our rivals....? It's never too far removed.
