A lot of people blamed Son on this, and he is at fault, but I think Conte has a big fault in this too. In that play, Son should have been trying to make a run past Kane, to the space vacated by Martinez.

Ever since he's come to Spurs, Conte has tried to get the two wingers Son and Moura, then Kulu and Rich to drop into midfield to pick up the ball, while Kane remains higher up the pitch, and playing a more traditional hold up play.

This is just not suitable for any of the players (except Kulu). Son showed exactly why that's the case, he doesn't have the strength, the courage, the first touch, dribbling and passing to play that role effectively. Kane in turn, doesn't have the physicality to wrestle with the big PL CBs, like a Drogba or Costa would.

The way to use Son is to avoiding giving him a lot of touches of the ball, instead try to put him in on goal with a through ball, or give him a chance to cross.

Similarly, Kane should avoid locking horns with CBs, instead look to avoid them, and drop deeper to dictate play. Then, if possible, try to arrive in the box more to deliver the killing blow.

Agree with most of that but Sonny just didn’t fancy putting in a challenge which is unacceptable imv
 
What is our strategy building the ball from the back? It seems like we have 1-2 combinations that work and when those are shut down, there’s nothing.

We have a few young players with ability and the only young players that play are sess and royal, the two most boring useless players on the planet.
 
I'm sick of paying good money after bad to watch this shit.. I can take losing but at least give us something to enjoy.. I've had enough of dinosaur turgid boring shite football.

Yes correct to an extent.

I think it's the timing of the defeat and the manner that is the problem.

We have 2 attacking options out, which doesn't help, especially after a lot of games recently.

But we make too many mistakes, even more than any lack of coherent play.

Conte is paid a lot of money to overcome injuries and to create a strength of mentality.

I knew today was a game we could lose. Said it all week and there you go.

Conte has to oversee a victory on Wednesday or he will start to feel some heat.

His post match imterview will be very interesting but it's been a really poor couple of games.
 
Whilst the results and style of play are worrying, what manager in the world could get a tune out of this defence? Hugo is past it and cannot play modern football that requires the use of his feet. Dier is fucking brain dead. Royal, Davies, Langlett and Sess are below average players and best of all, Sanchez. Where do you even start with a defender who cannot stand on his own two feet??? This squad needs a total rebuild. Shit players with weak mentality stealing a living from the club and the fans.
 
Conte's trying to make it as hard as possible for me to back him.

At this point the only thing keeping me going is that I know who the replacement would be :pochcry:
 
Thought we did OK until Lloris's clown show and the ref being an utterly corrupt cunt.
Conte can't be blamed for Lloris deciding to be an idiot, Dier and Lenglet positionaly being atrocious and Sess deciding not to foul on the 2nd.
He has his faults with stubbornness being the worst trait but the individual errors today were brutal.
