Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Everything Conte says, shows he is willing to stay for long term, why do you think he keeps mentioning about transfer windows? Since last summer and since Conte has arrived he has changed so much at the club.
Of course we have improved from last season. This time last year we had Nuno as a temp manager with no real direction. We're third in the league compared to 9th so how is that not an improvement?
The performances were not good against Man Utd mainly, against Woolwich we self destructed like we do every season there. We were well in the game against Woolwich up until the brain fart moments from Emerson and Lloris.
Yesterday we were good until again the brain fart moments from the keeper which then just puts you on the back foot for the rest of the game.
100% I believe the board will back Conte in the next couple of windows, look at our transfer policy in the last year, its been so much better. You can't replace the whole squad in one window so it will take time.
Of course there are positions that need improving, but like mentioned above its not gonna happen over night.
He will get backed, but will he get backed with the players he really wants or needs?

Are you happy how we've been playing this season?

Crikey! You're not the most conversationally focused or forthcoming of individuals are you..... ?

OK; let's hypothetically replace Kane with Lukaku (Conte's previous ST)... We still aren't gonna press like a Klopp team in their pomp.

Why? Conte/Tactics....

Which re-begs a question I've already asked of you twice now:

Meh... You're stopping short of conclusively stating an opinion.

Perhaps you didn't ever want to sign Conte; in which case touche, but he's here now and done a lot of good so far.

Levy has a decision to make: Do we offer Conte a new contract?

Do you think he should or not?

Yes or no?

No, I think we should start a manager search now for someone who fits the statement that Levy promised us, with a view to taking over in the summer.

I was happy when Conte arrived but have always thought it's a short term arrangement.

I am unhappy about the way he has us passing the ball about at the back, it's always a heart in a mouth situation or i'm peeping between my fingers at it.

Conte did steady the ship last season and the signings of Kulusevski and bentancur were both good.

But just look how we're currently playing, we're like rabbits caught in headlamps. It seems to me that being 3rd is flattering us.

Do you not want to hold Levy to his statement about free flowing attacking football,

Yes or no would have been way more meaningful given the question I asked.

I can only guess that you've been applauding our recent games and footballing style?

Cut the crap and just work with what I am actually saying.

Thought I’d do some research as the club is an absolute shambles atm with a clueless novice manager.

Turns out we’re 3rd in the league and top of our CL group.

No wonder other clubs think our fan base is deluded

We are of no threat during open play unless we're playing a bottom half of the league team. It's only against Brighton that we have beaten anyone near the top.

Many of the matches that we won, or drew also, we looked second best and had a lucky result.
Of the top 6 Clubs, Only Man U have had a harder start to the season bassed of the average positions of their opposition.

Utd = Ave possition of opposition 8th
Tottenham = Ave possition of opposition 11th
Woolwich = Ave position of opposition 11th
City = Ave position of opposition 13th
Chavs = Ave position of opposition 13th
Can't be arsed to do LFC's

The anomaly to Utd is that all bar one of their hardest fixtures (against the top 6) have been at home, whilst ALL of ours have been away from home. And yet here we are 3rd in the league. The ONLY team we were terrible against was Utd, where they played us off the park. I don't think we played at all well vs the scum but they did score from a shot outside the box and another that took a heavy deflection and going down to 10 men really didn't help from there on out. West Ham equalized from a goal that shouldn't have stood. In every game, we've played this season the result reflects the performance except the game vs Newcastle yesterday where we were the better side.

It's absolutely fine to complain about our style of football, I'm not a huge fan of it myself and the version of it this season isn't better than how we played last season. I think this is all open for fair debate and criticism if we want to but the point of my post is let's not go down the route of untruths to win an argument.

Have to say thats pretty much where i'm at although a bit early to start a search imo. Could easily have Naglesmann or others available come summer. If things improve for the better over the next 7 months we've also got that 1 year option if we want Conte to stay. Given him a big contract now serves no real purpose. It wont even bring stability because of the way Conte is.

Just chill

We were beaten by a United team that looked like they were pumped full of PED's on Wednesday and yesterday was a wierd one. 2 brain farts but total control for the rest of the game.

Sacking Conte doesn't cure the brain farts.

We were never winning the league this year, so I'm not disappointed we're losing ground on the top.

But I am fucking furious that we're losing ground on the goons.

*deep breath*

Putting that to one side, I think if we finish top 4 we're set up well for phase 2 of the Marvellous Contematic Universe.

3 Iron Man (Harry's Golfing Tips)
Captain Amourica: The Wilting Soldier
Bentancur: The Odd Worldie
Antonio-Man
Guardian of the Galaxies (A docu-soap about Ndombele)
Scavengers: Age of Emerson

Coming soon:

Yeah...not really. Just so we can get more goals in a different way.
Let's say we give Conte a new 5 year contract and he accepts.

How do you think we will be playing in 5 years time? What I mean is, what's Conte's vision for the style of play?

During the 2027 season will we still be hopelessly passing the ball backwards, passing it about in front of our own goal and still relying on Kane or Son to score goals from scraps, whilst jogging towards a half arsed press?

When is the attacking free flowing football going to start?

Conte said it will take 3 or 4 windows for a title challenge, you'd think by then we'd have the players who are capable of playing at a high level enough to sustain a title challenge.

Think it's one of those ones where you just gotta trust the manager and chill.

Mate, this woukd not be a discussion had we beaten Newcastle yesterday.

Our fans are understandably desperate for success and saw yesterday as an opportunity to make-up some points.

I get the frustrations and the context

The issue is now that Newcastle have a sniff they could get much stronger and very quickly and if that happens there have to be casualties.

And they will be us, Arsen_al or Liverpool., in my opinion..

United are odd, Chelsea always find a way and City are just too good to not be in The top 4.

We should start a manager search now. Either Conte will leave in his own or Levy will not extend his contract.

Levy is cheap but he also wants to be entertaining. He’s not going to listen to fans booing and calling us boring for another six months.

Conte is a broken record at this point. “We must suffer” “We need 2-3 transfer windows" etc
