This isn't Conte ball end game mate, do you really think he is happy with the football at the moment?
He's setting us up to get results, the performances are secondary.
Do you really think the club can bring in 2-3 quality additions during January.
I'm not convinced Conte is prepared to be overly patient, he might be saying this in the media but doubt he wants to wait a couple of years.
As for being patient, us fans have been more than patient, waiting then still waiting.
Unfortunately there is always something that crops up that puts us on the back foot.
I fully expect to hear, that a swarm of bees in the Cayman Islands will stop us spending next summer.
Concerned how we can’t seem to press in an organized manner. If you are going to play on the back foot you need to be able to press effectively AND counter effectively. You can’t rely on just counters or just a few passing patterns or you just won’t get enough chances.

I think he will get the patience ( well from most sources ! ) but will he get the financial backing he needs ? If not , we really are in a right pickle

I agree. It’s always the big question. History suggests he won’t so we need to make the most of him while he is with us. Goodness knows where we turn next
Poch had no stadium and couldnt spend for 18 months as stadium was being built. He didnt complain but when he really needed backing to cover his back levy let him down. Always remember that press conference at Munich in Audi cup poch couldnt be more polite and frustrated saying he needed backing. Imo our performances this season have been nothing more than economical yet conte has blown 150 million.
Resisted chiming in yesterday because I was really frustrated. I'm really trying to take Conte's words about needing a few windows to get things on the right path to heart. Also trying to be positive that maybe Conte can get the best out of players and early in the season it was his coaching that was giving us the success and then the talent of other teams caught up. On the flip side, with all the troubles that Juve are having it seems Allegri is out and with Conte's family still in Italy, I have my doubts he will see this project through. Gonna be an odd season, I think.
Has conte turned to academy to integrate into team btw? That's another question mark.

Lets be honest we are currently trying to dine at the top table with A LOT of players who wouldn't get a sniff at the elite clubs of today:
(Doherty, Emerson, Skipp, Lucas, Davies, Dier, Sess, Sanchez, Gil, Tanganga etc.)
Could probably add a waning Lloris to that list and then the jury is out on much of our second tier as to their level/ceiling (Hobby, Bentancur, Biss, Rich, Lenglet, Perisic)
Kane, Son and Romero are currently our only elite players with Kulu probably joining them with another good season behind him.
Conte puts the system before the players (which is why we start fucking Sanchez RCB and Emerson RWB) so in effect he is just waiting until we upgrade personnel to have success.
