I wouldn't even say that he has a ton of technical ability especially when he gets the ball out wide. His moves are sort of predictable but it's still difficult to stop which makes it all the more impressive.
Perhaps technical ability might be ball carrying ability.

He can definitely beat a man 1-2-1 and seems to be the only player we have that can do it.

His strength and being hard to knock off the ball is something that might explain why his predictable movements still can’t be stopped?

I agree with your last comment. He's not like extremely quick and doesn't have the trickery/moves of some of the elite wingers out there but he uses his body so well and has excellent strength/balance.

He does all the basics so damn well and has a big heart which goes to show that you don't need to be that fast and/or some Brazilian phenom to be an elite winger in the Premier League.

Keep saying he reminds me a lot of Chris Waddle. Not a great athlete, but great technique and a real footballing brain. He makes the right decisions when under pressure which is the sign of a quality footballer.

Really unique player, need to find another who can do some of what he does because we are not a good watch without him. So powerful, his desire to make things happen is infectious, his celebration when Bentancur scored the winner was brilliant. Something about the way he plays reminds me of basketball. Class.

I was just watching his post-game interview on SpursPlay. He’s going to be a killer pundit one day.

Always good value in interviews.

He said about having a rest now, and referred to getting fully fit so there’s still more to come. But my favourite bit:
‘I would love to have time to work, because now we have time to work on my weaknesses.’

That work ethic is just something else. I think he already knows he’s really good, but he wants to be best in the world level. Playing with the likes of Ronaldo and Zlatan can only have helped. So happy to have him at Spurs.
