Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Evan Ndicka (France and Eintracht Frankfurt) LCB and CCB has 6 months left on his contract still only aged 23.

Only problem about a January transfer might be Eintracht Frankfurt are in last 16 of CL - but with Frankfurt looking likely to lose him for free in the summer, maybe there is a price to get him early. Otherwise we may be in queue to get him on a pre-contract for a summer transfer

Thoughts on the player - I think we were linked in summer ?
Haven't seen anything impressive in the limited times I've watched him (3).

Reckon we will get de vrij in january. Also think we will traore on a free in summer. Only concern with moukoko is could be a liverpool syndrome and they snap him after us doing all the scouting. Unless scouscers to rob something isn't it? 😊
Traore as in Adama Traore? Who isn´t even a starter in Wolves?

Lol. People still yearning for Sanchez to "get a consistent run" 6 six years later like he will suddenly become a good player.

I wonder if Mykhailo Mudrik off Shaktar would be an alternative as a possible forward opinion. Starts on the left side, 5 goals, 6 assists in 11 games. A bit on the smallish side, but a big talent. Anybody seen him play? I want us to go for intelligent players. Like Kulusevski.
He'll have more appealing suitors

Always rated as a dangerous player imo. End product needs working on but he is handily to any defence.
No no and no. He can go to Newcastle, Everton, Villa, the friggin moon...but I don't want him anywhere near Spurs. Waste of a roster spot, waste of money.

In a contest between a brawler and a boxer, I dunno about you, but my money is going on the latter 90% of the time. If you catch my drift

Is he a good player? Yes.

Has he got a good future ahead of him? Yes.

Do I see him join Spurs in Jan/summer and really move that needle? Nope.

If I signed him then, that'd only be as a player with potential but defo not as a guaranted starter expected to transform the side, bit like we did with Sanchez...but I wouldn't put anywhere near the amount I did for Davs. Live & learn and all that. If we could get him for max 20-25 ish with bonuses, and get a proper experienced beast to start ahead of/alongside him, then yeah. But I'm not bringing him in thinking he's gonna be our own VVD from the offset

agree these guys not getting match time need to be loaned out and get in a couple of players who will be good enough to get match time
its not if me or you think they are good enough for match times (aka Spence) its if Conte thinks they are good enough

RWB and CB are the two positions we need to strengthen first.

Then another attacking option and a new goal keeper.

£199,99 million should do it.

For hundreth of time - we need creative midfielder so that we can keep the ball upfield as well...
Right now part of the reason why our defense leaks so much goals is that they are under constant threat and pressure. Whenever ball gets cleared, it will be back in no time whatsoever.

I agree that we need CB still, but RWB we are not getting, given we have 3 in the books already.

We have 2 below par rwbs and one not used.
I don't see how we fit an attacking midfielder into 343?

I've wanted Dzeko since way back when all he could get was 20 minutes off Citeh bench, always seemed a complete waste of a great goal scorer. Could have been immense as a first choice striker for us.

Seems improbable that he would come back to the PL now to be in Kane's shadow, but he's exactly the sort we need.
I fear he'd be another Llorente, just too old and too past his prime to be worth the hassle.

We have enough forwards tbh. Son, Kane, Kulu and Rich was already becoming a bit tricky cos Conte ended up benching Kulu for a few games. We still have Gil and Lucas, if we offload them in the summer, it makes sense to get a high potential cheap youngster who would add much needed energy and passion.

I'm not sure I get the attraction of someone who can run and scare defences but has no end product. We've seen time again, Emmerson getting into good positions then blasting it over, similarly with Sess. Look at the difference when Peresic and Kulu get hold of the ball. Forwards know there's a chance they will actually get the ball, so seem to bust a gut on the break, and it also maximises the few real chances we get in a game.

I know it's easier said than done, but the ability to actually accurately cross a ball is paramount.

Is it a no brainer though? We'd be paying him a sign on fee, as well as a good chunk in wages for the next 4 years. If he doesn't have a massive uptick in form, we'd be left with another player we can't move .
We need footballers, we need finesse, we desperately need intelligence in our squad. Traore is just about the worst possible player we could get, even on a free and on low wages.

In a team do Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Sessegnon, Moura, Richarlison, Emerson, Doherty, I can't take another clunky "footballer".

I'll be foul voting anyone recommending him from on.

If we only have 1 plan - to play 3-4-3 100% of the games, then we can throw the towel into the ring from the first day of the season.
We need valid options to shift to 3-5-2 at times. Something Conte has used in his previous clubs as well.

Other alternative is to at times play attacking midfielder in 3-4-3 part of the front 3 at times.
Other alternative is for some period to put in more attacking / possession oriented player as part of our CM duo.

It is fucking criminal how shit we were in scoring from open play before Deki came back.
I think we went like 450 minutes with 1 goal (!) from open play. Others were penalty or corner.
This will never be sustainable if our aims are even microgram higher than narrowly getting over 4th place mark.

If we go back two seasons I probably would’ve seen the appeal of him, which subsequently went down with each window.
Mainly due to his lack of form at both Wolves and his 6 month loan at Barca, but equally for the points you’ve touched on. As you said he’s about the worst type of player we could sign, one who wouldn’t fix any of the areas we need fixing, nor does it bring anything we really need.

It’s not that we’re struggling to score, more often than not it’s that we struggle to build up. For all his faults Emerson does find himself in decent positions, it’s just that more often than not he can’t finish or spot a pass. Traore would offer just more of that.

Bit early and weird seeing Richie in that list...
Just go and watch, he managed to control ball dropped from 30 meters, which is best after Neymar in Brazilian squad :D .

With others I more or less agree.
Also let's be honest, our CM duo of trustworthy workhorses are rough around some edges - meaning if you compare them to absolute world class CMs, you see their first touch and controlling of the ball in tight spaces is not quite as good as it might...
