I'm not sure that is Conte's system either.
Ok. Maybe I am getting skewed by TFC “we need wing backs who can cross”.

The beauty of Spurs 2016 -2020 was that we more often than not went through the middle. Man City and Liverpool similarly went through the middle and I hate to say it, Woolwich this year. The number of headed goals for these teams are a small proportion.

We need wing backs who have finishing product as opposed to just being able to cross, nothing wrong with headed goals as long as you have the players to score them.

This is a bit controversial, but I think the Poch system of 4-2-3-1 would actually suit this group of players better. The 3 being either Son-Kulu-Moura or Gil-Kane-Kulu with either Kane or Richy up top. Yes the CB would need an upgrade as neither Dier nor Sanchez can play in a 4, I assume Lenglet and Romero would adapt.

Lenglet struggled to adapt at Barcelona in a back four after succeeding at Sevilla in a back three.

Romero completed international football at the age of 24 by playing in a back four for his country, he'd be fine.

He'd most definitely need a new partner though.

Erm ‘I’m really happy but don’t want to talk about contracts now despite mine running out in 6 months” is hardly going to inspire confidence in anyone.

If he doesn’t sign one before March I reckon he’s off.

Weird practice though. It’s not like there are loads of teams he could go to and jobs available. Also I do actually believe him when he says he’s enjoying himself with us. The half time booing needs to stop 100% though, that won’t be helping.

hell sign a contract after the club gets him a couple players he happy with in jan most probably.

Yeah you’re probably right. It’s the Saul dance before the window opening. His position if he doesn’t sign is now significantly weakened with Poch being out of work.
we desperately need better CB's. not just ones that can defend better but ones that can play out and set the tempo from the back. thw WB positions might not be so bad now because it looks like emerson will be dropped, doc was on fire in the recent friendlies, like he was before his injury. if conte continues to play the useless emerson then we are bang in trouble and its probably best he goes anyway.

Providing Levy doesn't act like a complete dickhead (no guarantee of that happening :D) he will get him who he needs and Conte will sign, chill.

This TW is the most important in the club's history, fuck this up then Levy knows he's gonna get rushed, I don't think he wants that.

Lenglet definitely played in a back 4 at Sevilla, often paired with Denmark's captain Simon Kjær.

Sevilla switched to a back 3 to start the 18/19 season after Lenglet went to Barça that summer for €36M.

I really want him to succeed but we just seem to be getting worse and worse. Just haven’t looked like scoring today at all. The football is terrible. Maybe we should just cut our losses?
Tend to agree. Glad we came back yet again and yes he has been saddled with a bunch of utterly shit defenders but the football has been so so poor all season and i think its clear he's not going to get the players he's happy with. So in regards to footballing style and recruitment it just feels like a bad fit. It always felt a bit like a marriage of convenience for both parties. Its just when really.

Hard to say. On one hand, it’s clear we’re 2-3 signings from being title contenders. On the other we really haven’t improved at all this season. I’m still for Conte but it’s get hard.

What I don’t get is why don’t we attack like we did for the last 20 minutes from the start of games? If we did I bet we’d have another 5/6 points. Yet against villa, we won’t, we’ll do exactly the same thing.
