Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I like Conte but I'm starting to thing it might be best to part ways this summer. The club seem hesitant to give him what he wants out of fear that he might leave us with players the next manager wont want.

He wont get a long term contract either because theres just too much money on the line if it goes wrong. Meaning every fucking summer we'll have to hear the same bullshit about his contract situation. Also everyone seems to agree that he wont be here in 2 years anyway. In that case I really dont see the point.

We need to go the project manager route, I'd prefer someone like Gallardo. But we know who the next manager will be.

I’m sorry but that is utter fucking bullshit.

You do not have the greatest stadium in world football in one of the greatest capitals and then fill it with plucky youngsters.

Fuck off ENIC. Just fuck off. Take your money which you have surely earned and let us focus on football again.

Have I missed something?

What is exactly wrong with signing Kulusevski and Bentancur?

Conte is forcing the issue for January.

He's showing Levy how badly Spurs need players in certain positions but saying the opposite by stating publicly that Spurs don't need defenders.

Actions speak louder than words.

Conte does not want to repeat what happened last January.

He wanted players in early in January but didn't get them while Levy penny pinched.

He was then embarrassed by Chelsea in the sequence of games we played against them in the league and the cup semi finals.

Levy is the one in a Cul De Sac this time.

He's hired a mercenary who would rather be sacked than go through the Levy wrangle twice.

I respect him for having the balls to stand up to Levy but the stakes are high and Spurs could be the losers unless Levy either backs his man or sacks him.

I suspect Levy will opt for sacking Conte.

It will be cheaper.

To dare is too dear,

I would be very happy to sign more players like Bentancur, Romero and Kulusevski. Isn't that what Liverpool are doing with Gakpo? What City have done with Alvarez? Why is signing young players a bad thing?

If we sign good players, then I'm happy. I don't care whether they have a huge profile or not. All our recent success from Redknapp era onward has been based on signing young talents. The reality is that "proven" top players have no interest in coming to Tottenham anyway. Every time we have spent a big fee on a glamour player like Ndombele it has failed.

The most important thing is that we sign good players. I don't give a fuck if I've never heard of them, they aren't linked with Chelsea/City or don't cost absurd fees. If we have a football operation that is competent, we should be able to sign good players. It's very easy to waste money, just look at what Liverpool are getting for the £85m they spent on Darwin Nunez.

we aint getting anywhere

seems conte knows too

Werent the new stadium revenues meant to be so high that we could afford to compete with the big boys on salaries? Or was that yet another lie? When the accounts come out, probably after the transfer window now, they aren’t going to be able to hide behind the profits and revenues much longer.

I wonder if what Conte means here though is that we wont sign any more Perisic’s on £180k a week. I can kind of understand that.

Sure. Good young players are great.

Still want ENIC to fuck off. I’m just done with them. I know they’re not going anywhere but they’re fucking useless.

Darwin Nunez will come good by the way. He’s an absolute handful.

Wait...what ta gwan? I went to like Cranston Cranston telling ENIC to fuck off...and got a prompt page asking if I "really" wanted to confirm this opinion.... Admin Admin

Is this only for critics of our great and powerful leader? If so I fully support our great and powerful bald over lord. .and his mummified uncle?

:levystare:
I LOVE THE LEADER

I have no idea what’s going to happen, and I don’t know what to think, I feel like that’s part of the reason why so many Spurs fans are slightly on edge at the moment.

Are we still going to have Conte in 6 months, or someone completely different? I don’t like the uncertainty. I get he needs to keep Levy on his toes, and I’d agree with him, but if they don’t trust each other, it’s hardly a healthy working relationship.

This is the quote that seems to have got everybody talking this morning. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with young players if they’re good, like Kulusevski and Bentancur, and look at our neighbours down the road as an example, they have a team full of young players and are flying at the moment. The problem is, young players aren’t compatible with what Conte wants, as he prefers experienced players who he feels he can trust.

Essentially I’m not sure our values align with Conte’s, especially when it comes to style of play. Last year we were told that we were going to get a coach who plays ‘attacking, free flowing football’, we’ve since had 3 defensive coaches.

What do we want to be as a club? We need to pick a lane, and stick in it

Stadium is supposed to allow us to spend more; be that wages or salaries.

Whatever our new revenue levels; expecting us to spend more than clubs with even higher revenues is unrealistic.

In practical terms:

Gaining on Arse & Liverpool spending - Reasonable expectation.
Matching Man U & City (and soon Newcastle) - Delusion.
Chavs - Fuck knows what crooked shit is going on there.

Spending has evidently increased since the stadiums's been open (caveat being no additional income during covid closure); but sure.... Lets see what the accounts show when they drop.

As for Conte's comment; who knows what "big" equates to in that context and in his mind......

Give it up FFS. You are an embarrassment

Great post. We're neither one thing or the other. If you appoint Conte then you have to get him the best players and expect to spend big most, if not all windows. If we're not prepared to do that then we need to change manager....again. Personally this is why i wanted Naglesmann, Ten Hag or Potter in May 2021 because i think they would be more in keeping of what we actually are, not the fantasy of what the owners think we are. I've had enough of being a pound shop Chelsea. Pretty clear not everyone at the club is pulling in the same direction. Ideally ENIC really need to decide if they're the right organisation to push us on (i think the answer is clearly no) but i think that sort of self reflection is way beyond them. Either way i think a change of manager is coming in the next few months.

the 100m wasted on ndombele and gio didnt help, and 30 on reggie... be lucky if we can recoup half of that back.

How many times are people gonna say this lol

We can't defend with a back 5 so how are we meant to defend in a 4?
Just because you have an extra defender doesn't make it any easier to defend.

Often with more defenders you end up leaving it to each other. This is why dier always backs off instead of going in for a challenge because he thinks his 2 CB partners will be there to cover for him. If he was there in a 4 and knew he had to make a challenge as the last man I think you'd find we would be better off.

It's a myth having more defenders makes you stronger defensively. Especially with our squad make up. We have shit defenders so why have more of them on the pitch?

It's not an absolute either way..... Gonna depend on the individuals.

The fact is Dier, Davies, Lenglet, Tanganga are all better suited to playing in a 3..... I suspect as much of Sanchez & Romero too.

Which 2 would you trust?
