Fuck his WB system. Since when was our club defined by this 3 at the back bullshit?

Signing players to fit one specific system is fucking idiotic. We can't hire managers that can only play his system, one the majority of the world's top teams don't use.
The team.that just won the WC plays that system.
I’m not saying we should stick to it, I’m just saying signing players that play well in it, doesn’t limit us with future manager options.

No they don't Scaloni used it in a couple games but the final and semi-final Argentina reverted to a back 4. Conte sticks to it no matter what.

Good players can play in any system i'd rather we look for those.

I’m all good with being able to change as well. Also prefer to sign good players.

Just saying that signing player for Conte doesn’t mean they we can’t find a manager that can work with them.

I caught the end of it and lyall said spurs will give the players Conte needs now.

He also said he could see Porro coming if we move on some fullbacks and sporting soften their stance. Basically something any one of us could have said.

Porro is easily worth the 40m it would take to activate his clause but it's important to remember that Emerson Royal's hyperbaric chamber has many settings and I don't think the club wants to jump the gun before we've tried all of them out.

Paratici is one of the bright spots. Gets money and outgoings moving, has an eye for talent.
Not sure if this is a wind up or not?

I think his impact on our fortunes can be scrutinised very much.

The players he’s “unearthed” Sarr, Gil, Spence, are any of them going to cut it? Really don’t think so.

Forster, Gollini, Emerson, Lenglet, Bissouma, Richarlison (might get some stick for including him but fuck it) have all added next to nothing to the quality of the team. All relatively average players that require no real analysis or scouting.

Bentancur and Kulusevski have been excellent, but let’s not pretend they were bought as a result of being long term targets or through extensive scouting or planning. They were opportunistic buys as a result of Paratici’s contacts at Juve because we were unable (unwilling to pay) for any of our top targets.

Cuti Romero, granted, has been outstanding and is a top player.

But the overall picture isn’t great. And let’s not go to some of the managers he was trying to bring to us before finally convincing his food mate Conte to join.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if neither Paratici or Conte are here next season.
He may not be the best DOF, but I doubt Paratici is a fool, and he’s bound to realise sooner rather than later that he is merely a fall guy for Levy.

I'd go with the club strategy. Buy young, resellable talent on the second shelf. And start preparing for the new progressive coach that plays the free flowing Spurs-DNA football.
Last time Paratici was tasked with finding a manager to fit our free flowing spurs DNA football we ended up with Nuno.
After years of our scouting being abysmal at both a player and manager level my confidence isn’t very high that well get back to that any time soon.
