85% of the forum want ENIC out? Are we sure about this lads? Pretty sure the forum has more than 133 members. Looks like there’s a lot of members not voted here due to having the thread starter on ignore, or general apathy towards the question.

So not really 85% of the forum. Just of the voters. But forum sounds better right? So say that because it makes everything so much more conclusive. Makes our fanbase seem much more up in arms about being in lowly fifth in the league and still in the CL.

But it’s another untruth that spoils some perfectly good ENIC Out arguments. These need to be pointed out, or they just become the accepted narrative.
Wake up mate, it is conclusive. I was shocked there was even this many who wanted them to stay. Every single spurs fan I know wants them gone, look on Spurs Twitter right now majority want them out. Even the clubs official Twitter page is bombarded with anti ENIC comments on literally everything they post.

You were the one 2 pages ago saying that the people who don’t hate Enic like you were ‘wrong’ and had ‘lost the argument’ as if it’s that simple. There’s no right or wrong here yet you call other people’s opinions arrogant.

It’s unbelievable. Any post that agrees with you you’ll quote with some myopic ‘well done sir! You agree with me! Nail on the head ‘

You’re so dogmatic and accuse others of having arrogant opinions when you think objectively anyone who disagrees with you is wrong.

It’s really tiresome

Twitter is where angry people go to vent. It’s not necessarily reflective of society or the fanbase as a whole. It’s a horrible toxic place. Not every spurs fan I know wants them gone and non spurs mates think they’ve been good owners for us who’ve elevated us from sugar’s days to a consistent top 6 top 4 team

There’s lots of opinions out there. There’s good and bad it’s not as black and white as some think.

Very nicely put.

I’ve not voted for a few reasons.

I fall in the middle on most points. I could vote yes - but I feel any American owners will push for ESL and I’m not sure that is something fans really want.
I don’t really want the club to be owned by a state either.
What does that leave? Elon musk? The bloke interested in Chelsea, then Man Utd and now possibly us? If he’s happy to spend billions then why not? Change can be good.

But ENIC do what they say on the tin - a very slick marketing machine. The stadium is a thing of beauty, football wise recently we have fallen at the last hurdle - mainly due to players and management not stepping up when needed.

On a more personal note ENIC no longer take any money from me and I’ve personally benefitted from the amount of regeneration around the area so I’d be a bit of a hypocrite to complain about what they have done / achieved. It’s there for all to see when they walk down the high road, the area has improved massively.

I don’t buy the we were so great in the past either. Going through the decades from the 60s.
We won the double, got relegated, won a European trophy with mainly homegrown players and non league players and then won an FA cup and almost went bankrupt straight after. Highlights after that 2 league cup wins and mid table obscurity.
Then recently a CL final and best league positions consistently since the 60s. We have improved since they took over IMHO.
And we are not Real Madrid or Liverpool in terms of past glory’s.

This vote flip flops depending on the league position / mood. I’m convinced that the vote would not look the same when we were 3rd and pushing the top 2 a matter of days / weeks ago.

Maybe Zomb is right. A relegation party would be the only way that a true ENIC out movement begins. Until that day it’s just a few angryish people on the internet and at the ground. People are still giving ENIC their hard earned £sss anyway. In which case their “investment” is paying dividends.

But the main reason I have not voted is a friend died on NYE and tbh this vote means absolutely nothing. It’s a nice way to waste a bit of time I guess.
But I won’t give one flying fuck about it on my death bed. And neither will anyone else arguing about it right now. At least I hope they don’t for their sake.

So I’m chilling out with my puppy snoring asleep on my feet. Then back to work in a couple of hours. :(

Life is good. Hopefully spurs win tonight and make it better.
Post of the year mate, take a bow.

85% of voters want them out. Not 85% of all members. Heck, 85% of all members signed up probably never post or look at the forum.

It's like Brexit. It wasn't 52% of the country that voted leave. It was 52% of those that actually voted. And that was only 72% of eligible voters. We'll never really now what the whole population wanted as 28% of them couldn't be bothered.

In America, where they're all seemingly very opinionated about politics, aprox 66% of eligible voters actually vote.

40,000 (roughly) season ticket holders.

85% of 40,000 = 34,000

Number of fans at protests = 10.

That doesn't mean a lot of match-going fans don't want Levy/ENIC out. Pretty sure the people chanting 'we want Levy out' do.

Protests are just boring & ineffective so most people, rightly, don't waste time on it.
It was tongue firmly in cheek.........a bit.😂

Zomb, for example, is a ST holder, goes to matches but hasn't taken part in a protest.
His choice.

It's your 2nd paragraph that backs up my thoughts .

Complaining on a forum is just boring & ineffective, but people waste time on it.

Entitled to your opinion. And I can see you feel this way if all your Spurs mates want ENIC Out. mine are a mix, but mainly couldn’t care less who owns us.

And I don’t go near Twitter: but wouldn’t base anything on the noise of the disaffected few. The unhappy shout so much louder and longer than the happy, so I’d expect Twitter and any other online platform to be angry.

And it’s far from conclusive. Most of us twist and turn depending on the last result or signing. Same will happen again if we start to perform or make a decent signing.

To be honest I have avoided this thread like the plague because I assumed it would be a silly bunfight between people who think you need to be firmly entrenched one way or the other, and include people who think that if you moan enough on a football forum someone will magically appear like a genie with £4bn in their back pockets. Turns out... I was right.

This isn't the 90s anymore. There's no Jack Walkers, Jack Walker these days wouldn't even be able to finance a relegation scrap with Blackburn. The number of people or entities with the cash available to buy this club are vanishingly small. Even fewer if you want them also to throw money at us like the Saudis. Can you even imagine a Suadi conglomorate wanting to buy a club with fans that call themselves "Yids"? If there is to be a buyout, it'll need to be from the far east or America.

Some of the more boring people will then call me a Levy apologist. I'm not really, but I don't see what value there is in me whining on a forum demanding some dirty money buyout, it's not likely. I've said before I'd welcome new ownership. But I don't hate Levy, I think ENIC have turned us into a club on the verge of competing with quite simply the best stadium in the country with the training facilities. I just don't think they have what it takes to push us onto the next level, because it takes a level of financial risk I just don't think they're willing to take.

I agrée with this measured post.

The game has been fucked by people for whom money has no meaning. Hopefully Saudi and UAE and whoever else get bored and fuck off.

Most people are more angry at how shit we've been run on the football side of the club for years now, not because they want billions spent .. don't know why people keep misrepresenting the position. Yes people are annoyed at Levy for not spending at opportune moments, but mainly the lack of vision or a cohesive plan is what stings.

Woolwich are right now showing you don't need to be an oil club to compete. Newcastle spent what, 200 million to be sat in third and looking better than us?

Liverpool, with a wage bill that is a decent bit higher than us but overall lower net spend recently, won a CL, PL, league cup and FA Cup. Leicester with spending we dwarf have won an FA cup + league title. If these teams can achieve this, then we can achieve more than one league cup in 20 years. The blaming the oil clubs game needs to stop, its made it harder to win trophies but far from impossible as a top 6 team.

So do I, but I fear they're here for a while because it's good PR for their backwards horrific regimes.
It’s interesting to note the difference in people’s perception of the broader football climate (you can’t view Tottenham Hotspur in isolation).

For me, trying to build the club in “the right way” was a source of pride. Our success comes from patiently building over the long term from our own good decision making. Mirrors what Conte is saying really.

We can’t control what other clubs are doing and it is frustrating when Chelsea, Man City and now Newcastle come in and change the reality in an unfair way. Without them we’d have won a lot more under ENIC.

But I don’t really see us as having a choice. Not one I want anyway. I don’t want a buccaneering guy from the states or a dirty sports washer. I’d trade 10 league titles in for nothing if that’s the price. I’m happy with our homegrown and imperfect Levy. (Which is not the same as thinking he’s beyond reproach - he’s not).

This is about who we are and how we see ourself.

Yes but the point is if you want ENIC out you need a Multi-billionaire to buy us. In the 90s it was easier for some local self made millionaire to buy a club and inject funds. These days those multi-millionaires will bankrupt themselves just buying a couple of years of Premium Memberships.

The number of available buyers is a small pool, and they need to be willing to buy us in the first place. Shouting "ENIC out" does nothing. It's not like Levy can walk up and down the High Road asking in the local boozers if anyone wants a second hand football club. And that's why I can't spend that much energy being all worked up on "ENIC out".

I think we'd have a decent pool ready to buy us, although we'd probably be overpriced.

And yeah, absolutely shouting ENIC out does nothing. It's mostly just venting/chatting shit on this forum like with every other topic. They're not going anywhere unless the fans got 'militant' which won't happen, it's just a case of a buyer coming in with a mega offer (also won't happen) at this point.

We're stuck with them for the forseeable ... I just find it a little bit odd that people are actually happy about that.
