Tell you what, guys. Even I'm surprised at the magnitude of the result. I expected may be 60/40 but 85 / 15! Wow!! I mean WOW!!!

Maybe my surprise is fuelled by the reality that the Levy / ENIC apologists and supporters just have much louder voices in backing their cause than the rest of us.

I mean, the 15% who want more of the same seem to have contributed to over 50% of the posts in the entire thread.!

The results clearly have them rattled
I haven’t voted because it doesn’t matter. I don’t care if Enic stays or goes as I think if they go, there’s an equal chance we improve or decline.

Yet, you don’t agree with me, so naturally you’ll label me a Levy lover that is louder than the rest, when in reality, you post absolutely nothing positive about spurs and solely exist to trash ENIC, recruit a bunch of minions to do the same, and then stroke each others… egos at every opportunity.

You have the ignorance to say that the Levy apologists are just louder than the rest when you contribute absolutely nothing to this board besides complaining about them. Loudly.

Yeah I did.

Spurs fans aren't in a 'privileged position' at all. We're charged as much as elite clubs to watch some of the worst football in the top English tiers (yes, I've watched league 1 teams who are more entertaining than we are) & win nothing.

Lots of lower league fans wouldn't swap because they get a much cheaper day out, feel more important to their club & the football is messy but fun.
In what sense do you think we might be privileged vis a vis lower leagues?

We're easier to watch due to being on TV more and have less risk of going in to administration due to the money around the top division.

That's essentially it. You going on about how 90% of the football pyramid would have something to say about our privilege is wrong, a lot of fans of lower league/'lesser' teams think we're mugs for how much it costs to support Spurs, and STILL mock the hell out of us for winning nothing! I've taken banter off Swansea fans ffs!!

There's pro's and con's. We're privileged compared to someone who supported Bury because our club exists still but we're not very privileged compared to a Brighton or Brentford supporter lately.

We seem pretty privileged compared to Everton, who were very close to our level a decade or so ago.

That is not the goal I have for this club… being above Everton, but you seem to always point out one extreme while ignoring the other.

Everton don't represent 90% of the football pyramid. They've been horribly mismanaged, are crap to watch and because they're still a decent sized PL team with a smallish stadium it's probably still pretty expensive to watch them.

ENIC aren't the worst owners out there, there's a few in the PL alone I wouldn't swap for them. But they're down there in the bottom half.

I think more people are waking up to the fact that these leeches are killing the club.
It can't be every manager, player, tea lady or laundry lady.
At some point, and it looks like it's happening, the party might just be over for ENIC.
If we lose tonight which is very likely, the pressure that will build will be worse than anything we have seen before, and if we get spanked by Woolwich then holy fuck.

I think that's always been the case though.

Hence Abramovich buying Chelsea and not us.
Same with Newcastle.
Same with City.

Why would anybody pay 3 billion for a club and spend a further billion on players when you can buy an Everton (or similar) for a fraction of the price.

Point is that all takeovers by oil people have always been of yo yo clubs, or clubs struggling at the bottom of the table.
Todd Boehly says hi.

Yeah I did.

You haven't read it properly though mate. LeParisien didn't claim we're in a privileged position, he stated that there are fans of other clubs who view us in that light.

Wherever you land on the levy/Enic debate I don’t even think losing both these matches will make a diff in terms of them leaving.

I'd also wager that for every Levy supporter who hasn't voted, at least 5 who want him out, haven't.
If this poll represents the general feeling among the wider fanbase, as I believe it does, then there is at least a chink of light that over 2 decades of piss take and exploitation may finally be nearing it's end.

We are a great and proud historic football club. We deserve so much better

COYMFS!!! :contefists:

For every one of those fans there will be plenty more throughout the rest of the football pyramid who think we're mugs & STILL mock us for a lack of silverware. I don't think there's some consensus among non-Spurs fans outside the top 6 that we're in a privileged position.

Maybe there is, someone should take a trip to some other clubs forums .. run a poll .. actually, fuck that.

Off Levy must fuck.

Guy is an incompetent fool. If it wasn't for nepotism he'd have been sacked 15 years ago. A fucktard of the highest order.

I'd accept...begrudgingly, Enic being given another roll of the dice if they got in someone who had a clue how to run a soccer club.

I think more people are waking up to the fact that these leeches are killing the club.

And there we have it, the boring hyperbole I was trying to avoid in this thread. Killing the club?

What Risdale did to Leeds and Cardiff was "Killing the club"

Yeah, top 6 finishes with no trophies year in year out is boring. But killing the club? Come on. You just sound silly.

I do also think it's just rare for successful, stable clubs to be on the market. I mean there were reports FSG might sell up but that's gone quiet.

Chelsea were pretty expensive for Boehly, but significantly cheaper than we'd be. I do think buyers would be out there but the list of those interested would probably be significantly shorter.
According to Forbes, Boehly paid £5.4Bn to buy Chelsea.

Why would you think that is significantly cheaper than what a prospective buyer would pay for us?

Going back to Forbes, we are valued at £1.9Bn. Boehly will still need to upgrade or rebuild their stadium, and will likely need to shell out another £100M+ to get their training facilities on a par with ours. He's already shelling out North of £300M on playing staff, with eye watering wages to boot. So factor all of that in with the purchase price, he'll be looking at exceeding £7Bn on Chelsea, whereas if he'd spent the £1.9Bn on us, he'd already have the state of the art stadium and training facilities, with the only extra expenditure being on the playing staff.

Essentially, he'd have got far more "bang for his buck" had he bought Spurs, and would likely still have over £4Bn left to play with.

In essence, he's paid £4Bn for the brand name.

I think a Boehly could have bought us but apparently there were some links to Saudi funding for the buyout? Not sure how accurate those are.

But it would have to be the absolute super rich. An FSG for example wouldn't have bought us imo, which narrows it down. When you consider people also don't want oil clubs/oligarchs etc the list is probably pretty short.
