Manager Antonio Conte

Boycott the concessions, don’t buy the beer, the sausage rolls etc or anything from the club shop
Go to the game, most already paid so why be out of pocket or for some lose a fleeting opportunity to support in person
Might have to see if you can buy beer in a plastic casing of some sort no way after watching us in the first you don't need a beer.

I don’t want this as an out though. Getting Poch back should not be accepted as getting the fans off ENIC’s back. Happy to cheer for Poch in the stands but as for the owners they can bugger off.
It's a fucking cop out that's what it is. Like going back to an ex for a mercy shag because you've just broken up with your latest girlfriend.

But some of our fans are spineless enough to actually want this to happen. That surprises me.

and Woolwich will be challenging for the league, alongside man utd with Kane.

If Poch comes back I actually think next season will actually be ok, but the seasons after that won't be. I'd rather a couple bad seasons if it means we'll build for long term success. That's why I want an up and coming manager like Carrick who can build and grow with us to the elite level. Poch has reached his ceiling, he's not getting any better and we'll be stagnant with him.
I’m not even melting. We’re in so much trouble.

Kane probably off (although Levy’s pride might actually stop him from agreeing to a financially sensible deal). Son an absolute shadow of his former self. So that leaves us with Richie, Kulu and Gil to get our 40 goals or so.

The midfield is plodding but has its moments.

Our CBs other than Romero are really poor. RB is dead as we have no idea who Spence is. And at LB we’re completely relying on a 19 year old lad in his first PL season.

And then we need a new GK.

The manager does not matter. Our squad is so stagnant.

We’ll be playing Tanguy as a fucking 10.

We should be looking for the next Poch, not the old one imo. I fear it wont work out. But if this is what has been decided then i want them to just get on with it, not fanny around for weeks or months.

He’s trying to get sacked isn’t he 😂
This is utter BS IMO and stinks of that bald growths spin. F O Levy, I see you leaking these lies

I’m fairly certain he’s pressuring the board for more money, but suspect he just wants a transfer kitty that has parity with our peers eg Villa, Leeds, Bournemouth etc and doesn’t want a pay rose for himself

i see a bit on paul merson and he was spot on. theres no patterns of play with spurs, its all off the cuff stuff. this is down to not only the manager but the lack of actual footballers we have in the side. the only bit of actual link up i see us have is when kulu and doc have a bit down the right and its usually just the two of them involved so its limited stuff still.

we have too many players who have really low football intelligence in the side. the bit at the end where perisic got annoyed with son for completely fluffing up his overlap! this sort of shit should not be seen in a premier league game.

89:20 in the game, go watch it on spursplay. the commentators even blame perisic for this! son has taken to long to release the ball and perisic is offside by the time he does which is why perisic is fucked off! even the commentators are blaming perisic lol! the favouritism and arse kissing of son at this club is beyond a joke. hes a huge reason as to why the football is shit! this incident is typical son. braindead

Hey Mauricio, you can expect the same backing as last time.

Oh and Harry is off this summer. So start developing a new Kane. We’re counting on ya!

TBF that sounds like good stuff for Poch.

He's better at developing players than he is managing big stars. That much is clear.

Proabably been said many times but it doesnt matter if it's Conte or Poch or whoever, there is no quick fix here.

Deadwood still needs to be shifted and the investment needs to be there. Scouting / player recruitment needs to be much better than it has been over the last few years.

We dont have the players to the required standard to make Conte or Poch's systems work at this point in time.

The reality is that doing that would also be as close to a signed confession from Levy that he hasn't got a fucking clue what he's doing as you could get.

Would also signal that Paratici's job title isn't worth the bandwidth that it takes up on his Linkedin profile.

I’m going to go off on a little bit of a ramble, but I think this fundamentally highlights our issue as a club

Conte/ Mourinho have definitely been more successful managers, because they’ve had the instant backing at every club they’ve managed (apart from us :levylol:) . But they’re ‘win now’ managers, not a project manager who’s prepared to spend a number of seasons building up to that success.

Poch is a project manager, therefore him going PSG was the completely wrong fit, like Potter at Chelsea. Project managers don’t work at ‘win now’ clubs. If you bring a manager like Poch in (or any project manager, or even any manager in general!) you have to give them time and funds, and allow them to rebuild the team, like Arteta has at Woolwich. We gave Poch time, but we didn’t give him the funding until it was too late, and by that point, the rot had set in.

Basically, the club needs to decide what strategy they want to follow; are we a ‘win now’ team or are we a project? stick to it, and back whoever the manager is.

We can’t keep forcing square pegs into round holes (I.e hiring a manager who doesn’t match the strategy) it’s not working

Doesn't negate my point.

The tactics aren't working.

When you're getting outnumbered in the middle of the pitch by teams who have figured out Conte's rigid tactics, there's a problem.
It really is that simple.
But they were working last year, the exact same tactics. There’s no such thing as figuring out x manager, if that was true, you’d think managers have figured out Klopp and Guardiola by now. Even fucking Arteta who is using the same system for a couple of seasons and is literally a novice. Or do you think they’re some sort of geniuses, misunderstood by the rest of the pleb managers?

A manager can set up patterns of play, a general template/instructions for the players and that’s about it. The rest is for the players to figure out. That’s why you need the best players to win, not necessarily the best system. This isn’t Football Manager mate.

Here is a tactical analysis of our game against Woolwich. We got outnumbered in midfield, Conte tweaked the tactics. What is comical is that we conceded two goals that could have been prevented.

You've literally just proved my point .

Start the game, get over run on midfield, change the tactics and we're better.

Thanks for that

Doesn't surprise me because in all honesty, in the ~28 years I've supported Spurs, his reign was the only time we have consistently looked well prepared, good to watch and an actual sustained contender at the top of the table.

However, that view also ignores his reign being bookended by pretty poor results and performances, and the question of whether the relative success that we did have was down to Poch's greatness, or lucky timing.

I have strong doubts that he could replicate the successes of his first stint here were he to return, and there's as good a chance that the football would remain gash to watch as there is that it would be enjoyable.

That said, one of my big gripes under his tenure was that we would often go 2-0 up and ease off, with a real pasting of the opposition being a 4 goal win as opposed to the 6 or 7 that I wanted us to be hitting (think Leicester/Hull thrashings to end the season when we finished 2nd), whereas now a fucking 2-0 lead would have me over the fucking moon!

Definitely agree here - and I'll add also that this notion that Conte should just change his system and abandon his philosophy isnt at all realistic.

Did Pep, Klopp, Legohead abandon their principles to play a different way when they joined their clubs?
Hell no - they all shifted out a load of players who didnt fit or buy into their systems and were then backed by their boards to bring in the players they needed to fit their way of playing and have delivered on that.

You dont bring in a elite level manager like Conte with a track record of winning titles and expect him to abandon his methods to suit Tanganaga, Doherty, Dier, Emerson etc.
You bin off those average to shite players and back him in the transfer market.
