I’m going to go off on a little bit of a ramble, but I think this fundamentally highlights our issue as a club
Conte/ Mourinho have definitely been more successful managers, because they’ve had the instant backing at every club they’ve managed (apart from us

) . But they’re ‘win now’ managers, not a project manager who’s prepared to spend a number of seasons building up to that success.
Poch is a project manager, therefore him going PSG was the completely wrong fit, like Potter at Chelsea. Project managers don’t work at ‘win now’ clubs. If you bring a manager like Poch in (or any project manager, or even any manager in general!) you have to give them time and funds, and allow them to rebuild the team, like Arteta has at Woolwich. We gave Poch time, but we didn’t give him the funding until it was too late, and by that point, the rot had set in.
Basically, the club needs to decide what strategy they want to follow; are we a ‘win now’ team or are we a project? stick to it, and back whoever the manager is.
We can’t keep forcing square pegs into round holes (I.e hiring a manager who doesn’t match the strategy) it’s not working
