Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

100% but lots can’t see the wood from the trees nowadays. Letting someone of Conte’s stature go is a huge fuck up. He’s the only manager we’ve had who actually says what the fans think. He wants levy to fucking up his game and buy players to push the club on. He’s desperate for it.

I really wish this were true, but he's been and continues to be a disappointment on that front.

He's not fighting our corner; he's protecting his rep and his pay-off.

A vote for sacking Conte is a vote for keeping Levy.

It really isn't.

Literally anyone that thinks we're better off without Conte is mad.
He not only stopped the megarot from last season, he cleaned it up and came out sparking clean.
Unfortunately, without the tools, the rot keeps growing and getting worse and worse.
Conte’s managerial career:

Bari - 1.5 seasons - quit
Atalanta - 4 months - quit
Siena - 1 season - quit
Juventus - 3 seasons - quit (3 league titles!)
Italy - 2 years - quit
Chelsea - 2 seasons - fired
Inter - 2 seasons - quit
Spurs - 15 months in…

I see no evidence he’s going to stay here. He quit everywhere after 2 seasons except for juve, which he quit even after winning 3 leagues in 3 years.

So no I’m not mad because I have a different opinion than you. Just looking at evidence.

It's far from the forthright, all-out gunfight one would have hoped for in order to blow all the smoke away though is it......

"If only the club doctor would talk more...... I'd have signed a new deal and we'd be playing better"

Yeh, get to fuck, Antonio......... Gloves off or shut up and do your job.

TonySoprano TonySoprano - Think about what I actually wrote......

Point is IF he's gonna kick; I want him to kick harder and louder...... What we're seeing here is pretty lame IMO.

Bullshit. He’s been hung out to dry by Levy. Everyone can see it. He’s calling the owners out to explain themselves because he’s obviously been lied to or had the goal posts joined since he’s come. If you can’t see that then you really haven’t been paying attention the last 2/3 months.

Agreed with you again. Shit.

But will say, if Conte goes from the Best manager we have seen to the defeated version of himself we are seeing in interviews and at times on the sideline, that’s a club culture thing not a Conte thing.

Whatever happens with him, the primary responsibility needs to be taken by those above him.

Not necessarily. Spurs is a tough job. We expect top 4 against teams that have more money. It’s like playing on super hard mode. And playing against pep, klopp, United’s endless bank… etc, it’s not easy.

He probably has realized he is not up to the task. And I can’t blame him because almost everyone isn’t.

......If this is the case, why does he not just say so?

..........Where is alpha bad-ass, ass-kicker Conte?

Obviously there's a stalemate between him and the board; that's not my point here.

Go back to when we signed him and all the talk was holding Levy's feet to the fire etc...... I said I welcomed it; but the full fireworks version, not this mumbly political version we're seeing here all lover again.

Probably because, as he has said a hundred times, he actually likes it here for some reason and probably wants to keep his job.

Him joining was crunch time for all involved (including him)..... My eyes have been wide open from the start.

His chatter today is weak IMO and IF what you beleive is true, merely skates around this issue(s).

I was happy to take his "I like it here" stuff on face value for the last 14 months.... I wanted to believe it...... However, it's easy to say, but if he dislikes the board, the way that game over here asks a manager to be the one to face the press, doesn't rate much of the squad etc. etc. then what exactly does he have an affinity to?

...The posh training ground? Lady Gaga? NFL? : P

Have you not been paying attention at all?

Conte goes, levy appoints Poch, some fans are happy, levy gets a free pass for another 18 months until he lets Poch (or whoever the next manager is) down again and then sacks him. It’s happened too many times now, surely you must have noticed!?!?
Most people agree but two things can be true.

If his fire really has been put out by being Spurs manager he should go. (I’d still love to see that angry fire breathing Conte on the sidelines come back)

That doesn’t mean everyone should ignore the reasons the Spurs manager job has consistently killed the fire in great coach after great coach.

The club is the common factor
