No I don't think so. We knew what Conte's system is for this system to work to its maximum you need 2 V good attacking wing backs. Look at our options?! It is championship quality stuff. They are just appalling players. I would also add he has been unlucky with injuries with Romero, Kulu, Bentancur, and Richarlison out for large periods of the season so far. I don't think we have seen all of these on the pitch together yet? This makes a massive difference also. Plus poor old Hugo has turned into Captain Calamity, GK is another example of poor recruitment and succesion management which we lack severely. A serious club would of had a long term replacement in by now.
 
Levy hired a manager with a known track record of working with high end players that can fit his way of playing .He paid him a mad salary but then didn't source the quality of player needed as we all know . Very easy to say of course but we have to find a guy that can get the best out of squad short of top players but with some decent recruitment could still get in the mix .My main disappointment in Conte is that has only one way of playing even though I should have known that of course .We were never going to break the bank for the right players and give it a right go I should have known that as well of course .More turbulent times ahead I suppose .

I get the feeling there is a some friction between him and Paratici/Levy.

But either way he's lost the plot, Just spouting absolute shite now to protect his own reputation. Just seems toxic, no wonder none of the players have a smile on their face.

I suggest reading closer.

He’s saying when there are detailed questions about the clubs long term plan… the people responsible for that plan (paratici/levy) can give better answers.

For a physio, conte probably doesn’t know all the little details that a physio might. He’s basically said in the past he just knows if the player is available or not and probably a rough estimate of when they will be.

Conte has probably been asked the same question a dozen times… he gives an answer and then next week is asked the same exact question. That must be very annoying. If the reporters want a different or more detailed answer, they should ask someone else.

By virtue of being world class there's only so many w/class RWBs in the world, so this should be an easy question....... Who? .....Which one?

+ Not one, but 2 w/class CBs too.....?

..............So nothing less than w/class players in every position would allow Conte-ball to function?

Waging a 'who's got the best players'-battle' isn't a tactic, system or game-play strategy.

......We've gone backward to a scary extent in half a season despite improving the squad with some good players.

........."Wah Levy!" is way too 1-dimensional.
 
My prediction is that Conte and Levy already know he's not here next season. That reason i can't see us doing much in this window.Conte will fire shots at the board like he has today leading to Levy getting rid and bringing in Poch on a long deal or Mason till the end of the season. The next 18 months are going to horrible supporting Spurs with this rebuild that's going to happen.

Conte’s reputation as an ‘elite manager’ has taken a serious battering. He’s been shown up to be tactically limited with no Plan B who can only succeed with the kind of chequebook you get with the backing of a rogue/oil state.

I mean he’s not on the same tier as klopp and pep.

No history of success in Europe.

Great league record.

He’ll get another good job but not from real/Barca/Bayern.

It’s not like top clubs will be fighting over him. It’ll be clubs the same tier as us… Italian clubs most likely.

PSG is the only top club that would be interested and they are generally a mess.
 
We can give out about Conte all we want but why isn’t Levy sacking him now? It’s 100% gonna be Poch, why not bring him now with the window still open and give him half a season with the players? Conte has clearly lost enthusiasm in the project and Levy clearly has no interest in backing him. At this stage I am 100% blaming Levy for not acting decisively, I don’t think anyone, especially Levy should expect Conte to walk away and forfeit 7.5 million salary.
 
I’ve been a bit down on Conte in the last couple of days. However, I’ve just listened to the latest View From The Lane pod and they made a very good point about what he’s gone through recently. Losing three people close to him and being away from his family can’t have been easy.

Hope he finds his mojo again soon.

- Man U complain that the Glaziers are silent.
- Arse literally called their owner Silent Stan.... And had utter disdain for Kronke Jnr as a 'stooge' as recent as last season when the family finally did break silence. All of a sudden they don't care cos they're doing well..... Funny that.
- Ashley was a 'silent cunt' too......
- Roman refused to enage with the press.

It's basically how it is here.... Unless you've got a PR-loving clown like Moshiri or Brady at the helm.

While I'd like to hear from Levy more regularly than we do, I understand why we don't and I think it's unrealistic to expect it happening a lot.

But I figured that when Paratici was hired that he would essentially become the face and voice of the club at least from a footballing perspective. There's no reason why the DoF should also be silent as well.

We need more clarity on what Paratici's role is/what he is doing, I think this could come from Levy or FP might say something.
