Conte's a top manager and he's done rather well here thus far.

But Spurs are a club in the midst of a years-long nervous breakdown and identity crisis, and it's Conte's nature to tear at those wounds every time you put a microphone in front of him.

It's worth it if we're on a clear path to great success. Not looking that way atm.

I fear he's going to let the season peter out like he did with Sherwood and Mourinho, which was more understandable because no one was available until Summer, but no signings this window, a clean slate for everyone next season, absolute disaster.

It's not complicated. Every lengthy exchange I've had with you over the last 24 hours (which is numerous) results in lots of chatter and then you ultimately saying "I don't care...... None of this matters..... ".

......."Why bother" becomes a fair question.

We aren't actually in terribly dire straits at the moment. Our form is indifferent but hardly putrid and we're still well in the top four race as well as two cups.

The real subject of the fans ire and the continued press scrutiny is that still, all these years later, we have not gotten closure to how titanically the club fucked up the Poch miracle. The official narrative of the club is that that era is still continuing and we're still in the process of putting that right and cashing in on it.

Until we formally, finally move on (basically win a trophy or Kane leaves), that is the elephant in the room. And every new manager will bristle at being the redeemer of an impossible mess they didn't create.

If people didn’t read the internet and just went on what was said in press conferences and watched the games then they’d realise things really aren’t that bad. It’s just everything is dissected. It’s part of conte’s problem because his English is worse than people realise and he isn’t given a fair crack of the whip as every work is forensically examined.

Trouble is, the scum are top and running away with the league. I guarantee if they were sixth then none of this would be a problem and the poor football would be tolerated more. The fact the players don’t seem to be able to motivate themselves to chase that down or turn up from the first whistle at the weekend is concerning.

I suspect he will quit. It's more about the fans opinions that think the shit show we're seeing will stop if he goes.
It won't stop until 8/10ths of the squad and ENIC all go

I agree with every part of this (and hate myself for getting caught up in it myself), but weren't you earlier all hyped-up and saying "Conte's been lied to...... He's sticking it to Levy.... yadda yadda"............ ?

Bitching about the medical staff is incredibly unbecoming and speaks to a dinosaur mentality, but in the age of the project and the DoF I think it makes a lot of sense for heads of recruitment to have more of a public face a la General Managers in US sports.

But of course in all of this the actual press interest comes because everyone knew from the start that this was an impossible and loveless marriage between Levy and Conte and the buzzards are just waiting for it to unravel.
