Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

F off

Loan only. This clown will be a disaster IMO and a financial albatross

We are definitely not broke. The club is in a limbo state because they don't know what Conte will do, and they're most likely in talks of a takeover so don't want to invest anymore. Levy has blood in his hands with his management of the club post-stadium.
I think that's wishful thinking if we're honest. We're not broke, but the only buyout chat has been a minority stake at most. I think this is just our usual transfer window dilly-dallying, which Levy is leading because Parataci is too busy hiding from his lawyer.

We'll get a bargain basement deal on the 31st, which to be fair might work out (see Deki, Bentancur) but we'd need to be very lucky for that to happen two years on the bounce.

We are either under off for a takeover or broke.

Theres no other explanation for the lack of so many things..

  • No new player contracts under discussion
  • Meetings with investors and reports of Lewis wanting a full sale
  • Although not unheard of at Spurs, the sheer unwill to make a realistic offer for a player who will improve us.
  • Stadium naming rights gone quiet again
  • Board and Conte both keeping quiet about their situation.

I do think Conte will go, not only because he feels let down, but because of the amount of tragic lost he's suffered over the last few months, he probably wants to be back with his family in Italy.

The club needs to hit the reset button. We have at most 5-6 players we can build a new squad around, and that's not including Kane and Son as Kane will leave this summer and Son is burnt out.

Bentacur, Romero, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Udogie and Bissouma. All talented players who belong at this level, albeit not always showing it now. Add Spence to that, but loan him.

Paramount is a new GK, CB, ST and RB, for any new manager or if Conte does stay.. Regardless of this board staying or a takeover happening.

I'd add sarr to that list, their's a least a nucleus of quality at the club.

The club has been on sale for a long time now. Even before the Qatari links, Ali Gold mentioned multiple times that they're actively looking to sell.

Next season I will be very surprised with these clowns in charge if we can finish above
City, Newcastle, Woolwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, United
Logic says Liverpool and Chelsea will recalibrate, whilst we look set to lose Kane and Son looks done

So in theory 7th at best at least on paper. Wes Eden is wealthy and no mug , didn’t hang around binning Gerrard and Unai Emery with backing I think might make Villa a better team, so 8th is not out of the question

On the plus side I will get an opportunity to buy tickets to a concert I don’t wish to go to

But I bet their price is fucking ridiculous. They obviously value the club too greatly or else it would have been sold by now. There’s enough people out there who want to own a PL club. Plus Enic seem to piss a lot of people off who end up dealing with them. I suspect that’s what will happen with the Qataris. Even those with the deepest pockets on earth won’t want to have the piss ripped out of them.

Takeovers do happen extremely slowly though. Look at Newcastle. The Saudis have all the money in the World, and it still took them almost 2 years and a lot of protests to get the club from Mike Ashley. Hell, even Chelsea which was a forced sale took around 3 months.

I think most of that was getting through the premier league red tape though wasn’t it. If this is a 25% stake as has been mooted then it doesn’t require PL ratification. I agree though, hoping it is done quickly isn’t realistic.

Sure, but suitable buyers are few and far between. There's been leaks and gossip that ENIC might want to sell, there's been talk of QSI and a 25% share but nothing about a full buyout. Something that big surely doesn't go down quietly?

The Chelsea takeover opened a can of worms when it came to Premier League clubs selling. Now everyone wants to cash out just in time, and ENIC are no different. It's Same for suitable buyers, there are so many investment funds looking to get a piece of the pie. Look how many bids there were for Chelsea in 1 month. Pretty sure that there are talks going on about selling the club, especially now that Uncle Joe is in Argentinian trouble. Otherwise, even for ENIC standards, what it happening now is pure negligence, and I really hope that that is not the case.

May as well try young uns for the rest of this season to see if White or Devine can fill one of the CM spots. Do we have any other prospects? Our u21’s seem to be a complete disaster, wtf is going on

Cheeky...🤷🏻‍♂️

Milan Skriniar, 27, will not sign Inter Milan's contract offer for the time being as the Slovakia defender, out of contract this summer, considers his options. (Sky Sports Italia)

Yeah, it's not like popping down to Tesco's for pint of milk.

It's more like climbing through Aldi for a rebranded table saw. Even if they have one left, you've got to work for it: Find the fucker under all the togas and plastic fruit baskets, then get it past the hordes of zombies and their cats before queuing for 4 hours, where you have to keep an eye on it the whole time, coz some fucker will have it off you quick as anything so they can hock it on ebay for an extra tenner.

I imagine it's like that, but with suits.
