Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If we look at goal difference alone, it actually tells at least me something!

We are 3rd in the league in goals scored, although we don´t even play attacking football. What might have been if we actually played attacking football? It also tells me that our problems are not our front-3 or central midfield. Maybe even not our wingbacks?!

We are at present 6th from bottom in goals conceded, 1-2 games ago we were 3rd from bottom, that tells a lot!!

Below i´ve made a list on what is NOT our problem at the moment if you look at just goal difference alone:

- Our strikers
- Our wingers
- Our central midfield
- Probably not even our awful wing-backs.

What is our problem according to goal difference alone is our Goalkeeping and our centre of defence!
So the priority list this transfer window according to me should be this top5:

1. Centrebacks
2. Centrebacks
3. Centrebacks
4. Goalkeeper
5. Wingbacks
Too simplistic mate.

You're right in that we need better CBs, but when you're getting outnumbered week after week after week in the middle of the pitch, then the tactics have to change.

Teams with much worse CBs than ours have conceded less goals.

Yeah that's been one of the biggest disappointments of Conte for me.

No tactical flexibility at all. Leaking goals for fun and going behind 10 games a row, or whatever it was, and he never once tried a midfield 3 or a back 4.

Just rotate Emerson and Doc and Lenglet and Davies and hope for the best - it's poor. 15m a year.

Thought the Trossard agent quote posted earlier was a fabrication but looks like it's genuine.

My thinking is that we planned to have as many potential deals in the oven as we could manage and then leave it to the last week of the window where we lead every player and his agent on and then in the end try to get the cheapest deal done.
IF the story is true, i refuse to believe this is Paratici´s work, it just can´t be!!

It´s impossible we have a managing director that works EXACTLY like Levy! This window has Levy written all over it.

Either that or perhaps those rumours about Paratici always has a lot of options for the same position up in the air are true, and Trossard wasn´t our first option. I would like to believe that version, but IF we bid £12 mil and they wanted at least the double, that just screams Levy to me!

And if it is Levy behind the wheels this transfer window, why the hell do we have a Managing Director like Paratici?

And why the hell do we have an owner/CEO running our football operations, it´s fucking insane!!!
