They wouldn't if we had a solid CB partnership and were investing for the future. Don't deny it.

Woolwich are showing ambition & are looking to improve on what they have & we are not. To bring in a player on a 4 month loan who is behind Bergwijn in the pecking order for the Netherlands is absolutely baffling to me. We should be bringing in players who will improve our starting 11 which to be perfectly honest, really isn’t good enough in a number of positions & all we do is bring in more bench warmers. I really do wonder what is going on at Spurs.

But didn't we do that when we bought Bissouma a few months ago? They're spending & looking at dumping another 60m on one of the highest rated midfielders outside of the top 4.

Is the deal done then?
No it’s only us that would haggle all month for our number 1 target and then get to a stage where we have to agree to letting the player play an extra game with his club to get the deal over the line. How many deals involving release clauses get done early?
Clubs are always going to haggle to get out of paying an upfront fee when a fee close to that price or totalling that price over installments is preferred.
You've seen how toxic this fanbase is. They would have regardless.
£25m IIRC, a bargain. if we can get him playing as well as he did for Brighton, along side Bentancur, we'd have a decent midfield. We did, for a cut price when other clubs weren't interested because of the controversy surrounding him at the time.
Of course he has the choice even if we pay the release clause. He wouldn’t have the choice if we just paid the release clause earlier in the window
Of course now with it a day away and nothings completed he will want to play in the final

Sporting were clear they want the release clause, and we fanny about the first 2 weeks of window with shit part exchange offers, why weren’t all these daily meetings happening at the start of the window or even before the window opened when he’s clearly our priority.
Just wasted time and games where he could have been our player already .
The circle wank about Woolwich is stronger than usual today. Is it just because a guy on Twitter said they might buy someone?
I can guarantee that if we were in their position, and signed Trossard, it would be horrendous as we should be taking advantage of our position at the top to get the very best players on board.
Then the first sniff of Caciedo, it would be “pay the fucking money” and expect him at the training ground by lunchtime.
Woolwich do it and its ambition. Laughable.
I don't believe anyone would complain if we were 8 points clear and spending 50m on players whilst looking to buy young talent like Mudryk or Caicedo. Nobody. Or at least the voices would be the tiny minority and would be getting 500 disagrees and people telling them to shut up.
This fanbase isn't unique at all. If any of the other top 6 teams dealt with the same things we do, they would be equally as 'toxic'.
The same Porro who by every reliable journalist account has already agreed personal terms weeks ago and was just waiting for the clubs to agree a fee?Of course he has the choice even if we pay the release clause.
This isn't basketball where players don't have a say in where they go. Porro has all the power to slow down or block the deal if he so choses. All he has to say is "I don't want to move."
