At the risk of getting dragged into another endless circular discussion, there is a fundamental difference between falling short in the 60 to 80 million transfer range, and haggling over scraps.

I agree that there are posters that have a hate boner for ENIC and almost welcome the failure. But, on the other side, there’s a sort of wilful obtuseness to pretend the Scum aren’t acting far more decisively.

I’m frustrated too. I despise seeing them top of the league. What you see as “shrugging it off”, I see as “not being able to do anything about it, but I’m certainly not going to come on here and suck them off for just being so goddam awesome and the bestest club ever.”

As for patronising, I’m sorry if I come across that way. I had hoped I’d been more direct than that. I’m not someone who describes fellow fans as odd, or puzzling, or disingenuous, you know, all that passive aggressive stuff you engage in whilst you pretend to not understand anyone else’s point of view.

If I think someone is a cunt for deliberately noising up fans of our club with questionable posts and downright lies, I’ll say so. I believe you to be one of those lying, dishonest, windup cunts. Apologies if that’s patronising and not clear and direct enough.

It's not cowardly to walk away at all. I've engaged on the issue repeatedly and made my feelings clear over a lot of posts. Some people in this thread have expressed that they don't want to see it and I cba self-flagellating myself over it. Knock yaselves out.

It’s a mockery that clubs can just cheery pick the best players from teams below them and basically stop any other team breaking the glass ceiling. It’s a wider problem of football. I accept we play our part and are complicit

We were derided as "trying," by our own fanbase, when the attempt to sign Skriniar didn't happen. Wasn't that a similar range? Certainly wasn't haggling over scraps.

Where have they acted decisively? They've bought a player that won't be a starter and a player earmarked on here as succession planning.

In the Summer, their major signing was Jesus, ours was Richarlison for a greater amount. Wasn't that decisive?

They haggled over the rapist then caved and paid the release clause in the final minutes if the window. We've haggled over Porro but appear to have got a deal that suits us. Decisively stuck to our guns?

Were they decisive with Odegaard? They were certainly decisive with Pepe and that's worked well for them hey?

If they were decisive then Mudryk would have been signed. Had that been us that got gazzumped, you could put your house on it that those claiming the filth are more decisive would be screaming that we were too tight to up our bid and weren't decisive enough to get the deal done before being gazzumped.

There's nothing obtuse about calling out spurious claims when they're used as a stick to beat our own club with, and using the filth as that stick?

Nobody wants to buy our players or negotiate for them with Levy it seems this transfer window, summer window with all our loanees back is going to be an epic meltdown.
