Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Right, i didn't even really clock he used to be a striker. He came from Germany?

Guimaraes was on one of those "Sensible signings for Spurs" videos . Turns out it was a good shout. Can see why the club wasn't keen to buy from Lyon again, though.

Yeah, he had one season at Hoffenheim where he played in a narrow three up top with Belfodil and Kramaric.

Issue was, he was never a £40m striker which Newcastle splashed on him and used him as.

Superb post 🏅🏅🏅
And yet so many people invest so much of their time passionately supporting/defending /apolosing for their beloved chairman and his investment company trolling/milking our club and it's fans.....

It's absolutely bizarre. I said in another thread, every Spurs fan I personally know wants them out. Every gooner and chav I know wants Levy to stay!🤷‍♂️

I'm convinced this could be used as some case study for budding psychologists in the future.

Brighton is an incredible club for developing players. If Sarr was there he would have played a whole season by now and probably have £100m price tag on him with Chelsea going nuts.

On a side note we cannot sell Sarr, he just has talent in spades. Our CM is fine, Bentancur, Sarr, Bissouma, Skipp and Hojbjerg. We have real depth in that position.
We still need someone who can open a defence with a pass and chip in with goals ... like prime Eriksen.

Love Dembele, Bentancur is possibly a better player.

Good lord no. Bentancur has promise but Dembele was a legendary beast who could take on elite opposing midfields on his own. Bentancur has done well for us but he has never had a game like Dembele had at Old Trafford under AVB, away at Juventus with Poch etc.

Bentancur's best game was a 4-3 home win against Leeds. He has a long way to go. Opponents are not afraid of him the way they were with Dembele.

He's not at prime Dembele level yet, but you could argue that he's better than Dembele was at the same age. I think Dembele was still trying to make a fist of it as a striker in his early 20's, and was doing pretty poorly, so Bentancur is ahead of the curve there.

The question is whether Bentancur will hit the lofty heights that Dembele did when he moved back into midfield. I have my doubts he, or any other midfielder for that matter, will ever be as good where ball retention is concerned, but that's not the only metric for effectiveness in the role.

Exactly.
Saying that, he's a year younger than Caciedo and maybe better off in the long term by not playing a full season of prem this year.

Nobody will ever come close to Dembele for being impossible to tackle and dominate with brute strength.

Bentancur already does this Dembele never did though. He's a much better passer, better finisher, better at pressing and even if not on Dembele levels, he's cold when it comes to dribbling out of tight spaces.

Great post. Those clubs have long term planning, a strategy and managers that could be with them for years. They want to improve and win things. We have a chairman who wants younger players but wont pay for them, a manager that wants experience but we wont pay for them and a DoF who appears to have given up, which might be sensible as he'll probably be retiring in a few weeks. Our squad consists of 3 loans, a load of players who's contracts end in 18 months and a couple of fading stars who have helped carry us for 4 or 5 years. Root and branch change is needed and that starts at the top.
My feeling, if we can get a cash injection via selling 20-25% AND naming rights, so this summer we can have this intense overhaul, whoever the manager, ENIC can survive with a £200M injection = £150m in first team, £50m on a significant youth injection (£40m on 3-6 elite talent players 16-18 who will be homegrown by 21, £5-10m on new staff and project building the youth strategy).

Just can’t see ENIC pulling it off.

But, had a lovely bowel movement this AM, so feeling optimistic whatever!

Will the people who were raging about Levy not just meeting Porro’s release clause not embarrassed that there is no release clause at the moment?

All that anger and frustration for nothing.

You didn’t even know basic facts. Which is a theme for so much anger.
I thought you had to sign a clause to post on TFC but found out there is no such thing as a sanity clause.

Sarr looks to have the in between, maybe not moving the ball as well from dribbling, but some of the Scott Parker characteristics of shielding and passing, maybe above Dembele’s, potentially.

Wouldn’t mind fate pushing Sarr and Bissouma into getting a few games together, as think Sarr sitting and Bissouma destroying/pressing may be a lovely blend.

Maybe staying up is enough for some

Staying up would be something to celebrate
1. Is it fucking frustrating to see Woolwich’s young squad where ours was and they spend to attack it when Levy and co went 2 windows without buying a player?

Yes.

2. Is it fucking frustrating that they are consistently more aggressive and more ambitious in the transfer market than ENIC despite missing CL and with lower revenue?

Yes.

But

They were wank last night against City. They are often wank but seem to have the whole world enchanted to say they are good even when they are wank.
They are reliant on a rapist in CM and still pick Granit Xhaka every week. Rob Holding is still the definition of their depth. Zinchenko has no chin. Trossard is the new Nasri.

They know where their weaknesses are and are trying hard to strengthen, that's the difference between ambition and contentment.
They tend to play really well for 20-30 minutes and win the game in that spell. They then sit off and relax.

Like I said before, some people would rather live in Josef Fritzels basement than leave, just in case the outside is worse.
People aren't fans of ENIC, they're scared of what might come next.

Maybe they need to read our club motto a few (thousand) times.

150M is the bare minimum and won’t see much change

We need more than £150m to sort this out. £50m on a youth injection might get you 2 or 3 these days. Besides, we could have £300m to spend, if Levy is still making the decisions then most of them will still be bad, it will still be endless haggling, unsuitable managers appointed etc. The bloke is too set in his ways to ever change.

Presuming Danjuma (sp) is a moderate hit, we might well get a straight swap on Lo Celso.

Presuming NDombele does have a trigger for CL qualification, as rumoured, with Napoli, we might get £20m for him.

Presuming Reguilon stays fit not and gets game time at Atleti we might get £15-20m for him.

Lots of presumptions, but not outlandish, £150m on top of £40-50m (Rodon maybe/hopefully £10m). Should see £200m become a possibility (naming rights should allow this level, spread across 5-6year contracts on 3x £50m level first team ready signings and 2x £25m level.

Make it happen ENIC, or, I’ll chip in to a crowd fund for someone to swim out to Jo’s yacht, and, puncture the fucker… or graffiti it with ENIC out.
