Yeah we wanted him summer 2020 after we failed to get Skriniar and before we ended up with Joe Rodon. I believe we also wanted him January 2021. Mourinho has just got the club wrong but otherwise no reason to doubt it and also chimes with what Trossard agents said a week ago.
We didn't haggle for Tomiyasu at all, we kept him on hold until the end of the window when we decided to go for Emerson.

Mourinho has a very... convenient memory of things.
Regardless, KMJ joins a long list missed chances by our transfer committee, if there is one.
We miss out of KMJ and end up bying Rodon. We miss out on Kvarataskhelia and eventually pay for Gil(?). etc. etc.
Big money or not, the hit rate is just abysmal. Outside of Kulu and Benta, it's been like a decade since we've pulled off some real clever transfers. Feels like a lifetime ago that we managed to sign the likes of Eriksen, Vertoghen etc. for pennies.
the trouble is Levy thinks he is a great business man, when infact he is a bully, but bullying only works when the bullied have nowhere to go, so if there are 2 or more trying to buy or you don't need to sell Levy's bullying doesn't work

I agree. in fairness to this case Caciedo is strong enough already to handle the prem physically. Young players happen at different stages based on physicality.

How is Tomiyasu the superior player? People here hate Emerson for not contributing to the attack, they'd have absolutely DESPISED Tomiyasu.
But it means that Levy has spent on the squad, the issue is he's bought poorly, and bought players that maybe the manager didn't want per se.

Attacking wise neither is better but as far as I can see Tomiyasu is much more composed on the ball which enables their build up from the back, and he's also more reliable defensively.
We dread the sight of Emerson, and they (a much better team) look forward to having him return from injury.
I agree. I'm just making the point that most fans believe we haven't spent on what we need. Its not that they think we haven't spent. They way Levy spends leaves us not spending for more than 500 days, then he spends and buys absolute crap.
