2 days to go so we really need to start hearing some rumblings about new targets today if we are to bring in anyone outside Porro and Dan.
He hasn't signed a new deal as he was expected to and Inter are flat broke, I think we are well placed to try again in summer, though I feel we may be in for some competition for his signature, the main rival in our league for him would be the chavs I'd guess but I think they've got eyes for Gvardiol. Even if it's not Bastoni himself I really want us to sign a CB of that calibre in the summer window.
You can really see who's watched Porro and who hasn't. Some people are in for a rude awakening if he starts against City.

I don't think anyone will be particularly bothered about his defensive contribution if he gives us the drive down the right hand side we desperately need, having someone capable of bombing forward and picking out an intelligent pass or cross will free up Kulu to drift inside and offer a good passing option. I actually think our attacking coherency is going to massively improve, our players currently don't really adjust their positioning when Royal is coming forward because they're (quite rightly) expecting a horror show of a pass or cross.

The first misplaced pass, the first time a winger gets behind him, the first time he falls asleep marking someone or letting his man go and he's gonna be greeted with "we paid how much for this?" and "I'd expect someone who cost half a ton to be able to mark" etc etc.

We aren’t missing a trick if the contract has no option to recall him? It’s also probably best for his development and Perisic and Porro is more than good enough.

If he lives up to expectations in attack that will wonders in protecting our defence as the opposition will finally have to actually defend across the full width of the pitch.
Our standards on the floor right now, and we'll be happy if he's as good as Trippier was.
Perisic has 8 assists from 26 games, 3 of them from the Champs group stages.
He had a bad game against City but other than that, he's absolute class.

Hincapie is a Udogie, Spence, Sarr type signing, right? Not a top-class defender yet but could be in a year or 2?

I'd say he's a notch above those signings in terms of experience. He's played nearly 4000 minutes in a top league with European competition experience added in too. I'd probably say he's more Davison Sanchez in terms of experience at the time of signing as opposed to someone like a Sarr or Udogie.
He's a great aggressive young centre back, who can also play left back. Has a great left foot. Only 21 years of age but physically capable to handle this league. Fearless. Which we miss at the back outside of Romero.
Yeah, I think he'd be a good signing without being the absolute cb fixer that we also need. He's similar profile to Romero, left sided, still makes rash decisions and had some bad games. But very talented and could be in the trajectory to being top class in a few years if he's coached well, avoids injury and has the right attitude. A more aggressive, mobile option on the left would be a big boost to us at times and enable us to play higher up the field and squeeze the pitch. Sitting off because Lenglet and Dier have no recovery pace is not fun.
Just means we'd really really need a leader in the centre of that back three.
Unless we put Romero there. And just make sure we sign a capable right sided centre back who's comfortable on the ball.
