Quite an unusual welcome to Spurs video
DickheadYou managed to spell « condescension » correctly but not « you’re ». Well done though - good try!

Could be interesting.
With Chelsea bringing in a lot of players this January (is it 7 ?) at mega amounts, there may well be a number of Chelsea youth (they and Mancity generally take many of the best English talent) who's contracts are up in June who will want to move on as there is no obvious pathway to first team.
So maybe Jude Soonsup-Bell could be the first of a number of opportunities of top young talent on the move - and if Jude feels welcome, others may follow if they fit our needs.
No chance at getting a keeper in January.
Didn’t think we dealt with them full stop , maybe different now with Roman goneI'm very keen in principal, but there's no evidence of a pathway into our first team either (and they have a better record of their youth hitting the big time than we do).
They're pretty much swapping U21s for U21s and with anyone that makes it into the seniors; before you know it, our fans at least, will be clambering for them to be sent out on loan which is pretty much what their future at Chavski holds anyway....
From a player perspective, I find it surprising.
Last thought; since when did they let players come here.... Let alone anyone they think is worth a fig?
That's a great point.Didn’t think we dealt with [Chelsea] full stop , maybe different now with Roman gone
EPL have always counted Davies as HG.Assuming purchase of Porro goes through.
Squad of 27 players (including Spence, Gil and Sarr, Danjuma and Porro) (As amended) :
GK - Lloris, Forster, Austin
RCB - Romero, Sanchez
CCB - Dier, Tanganga
LCB – Davies Lenglet
RWB - Spence , Doherty, Porro, Royal
LWB – Persic , Sessegnon
CM1 - Bissouma, Bentancur.
CM2 - Skipp, Hojbjerg, Sarr
RM - Kulusevski, Moura
Striker – Kane, Richarlison
LM - Son, Danjuma, Gil
PL squad (as amended) -
Overseas trained (Total 17, limit 17) :
Lloris, Romero, Sanchez, Dier, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Son, Moura, Doherty, Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, Lenglet (loan), Danjuma, Porro, Royal
HG (Total 8, Limit 8) : Kane, Skipp, Tanganga, Austin, Spence, Sessegnon, Forster, Davies
u21's : Sarr, Gil
So no problems with registering all the players.
With the UEFA/CL squad
Same as above but we now need to register Sarr and Gil as 'Overseas trained' which would mean we have 2 too many 'overseas trained', so two of the players cannot be registered - so one of those NOT registered could be Moura plus one of the obvious candidates of Gil and Sarr for example .
(nb. I am uncertain whether under UEFA rules, Davies count as HG or overseas trained - PL changed the rules so he counts as HG but I'm unclear whether UEFA followed suit. If he is regarded as Overseas Trained, we cannot register a total of THREE (not TWO) Overseas Trained players)
Key thing is we can play ALL of the above players in PL (and FA Cup), its only CL squad where we could not register 2 or maybe 3 of the overseas trained players.
Gallas? Cudicini?I'm very keen in principal, but there's no evidence of a pathway into our first team either (and they have a better record of their youth hitting the big time than we do).

Back 4 vs back 5, apples and oranges, wingback in a back 5 are barely even defenders, what they do going forward matters a lot more than their defending. In a 5atb system a centre back can move over to mark the gap left by a wingback knowing full well he still has the other 2 CBs covering the centre. There's no hiding for fullbacks in a back 4, even Walker got a lot of shit for his positioning the whole time he was here.Have a read through the old Trippier thread and then let me know if you have changed your mind! :contethumb:
It’s reductive to say Levy is incompetent because there are things that have been done very competently and things that have not been done competently. Some things have been done as well or better than anyone else. So to brand Levy incompetent is rhetorically satisfying but not very helpful.Sure, based off 1 data point...and if that was the only data point you might be on solid footing but we know that is not the case, right? There are more data points...in fact, there are a ton of data points and that is the very reason why most reasonable folks find it very difficult to stomach endless defenses of DL/ENIC. There is enough data to come to a reasonable conclusion. And to be dismissive of my point as reductive is non-productive and folly.
Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, and three times is a trend. At what number of times would you suggest would be the threshold of incompetence rather than just a series of oopsies?
Did you have a typo in your original comment? I don’t understand it but let’s not beat a dead horse.No. In good faith you could always go back and look at it and explain what your current understanding of my point was. I shall not be putting in that effort for what seems to be an exchange going down Bad Faith Drive. Don't worry though, I'm used to it. It must be hell being on the other side... Thankfully, I'm always on this side.
It is ridiculous to think that one would not affect the other. As far as i know it was Matthew Collecut who said it wouldn’t affect spending. Whoever it was, that was dumb as shit. We had the evidence of Woolwich before and it’s just common sense. I don’t think anyone should have been duped. And he said multiple times one would not affect the other...AND the same patterns have evinced themselves after the stadium. Not an acceptable excuse. Because to say they wouldn't affect things only for them to actually affect things due to overages caused by your mistakes would seem to many folks to be incompetence. But since we're friends we can just call it another oopsie.
That’s fair. I think until 2018 we were performing to a strong level and performances have dropped since then. We reached a CL final and finished top 4 which is a good level of performance and one we’ve fallen from since.Cherry picking! Though your point is true things actually started to fall after 2016-17 (high watermark) when we were 2nd...FACTUAL! Anything else? We should have been 2nd during the prior/Leicester year but were second the next, Chelsea year and dropped off after that. But that was 2017-18 when we were 3rd and then 4th the next season.
The level of performance we had under Poch was the second best in our history. It was frustrating not to win anything but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. We were good enough to and with a bit of luck we would have. Great times to be a spurs fan and I’ll look back on those years fondly!![]()

And the thing is, when you get close but don't get over the line then you are not good enough in your current incarnation; do the same thing, get the same result. So something needed to change...and it's not wasting half a TW to get Janssen FFS...for more money that you bargained because you played games and one of your chips came off the board...another oopsie.
See above. It was stupid for anyone to say it wouldn’t affect the transfer market. It obviously would. We put around 400m up front for the redevelopment and that is money that wasn’t there for the playing squad. None of that changes the reality which is that we had less money to spend for a few years.Again, he told the world one wouldn't affect the other as they had planned for it. Beyond that, what they didn't plan for was 4 straight years in the CL and ~400M extra while doing said stadium that they supposedly had comfortably financed without that CL money and said wouldn't affect transfers. Feel free to ignore these inconvenient points and focus somewhere else in your response.
Keep disagreeing with my posts. I love it.
