Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

To be fair, anyone who says they weren't happy with the summer window at the time is lying.

Bissouma - Linked with every top club.
Richarlison - Linked with top clubs and is a talented player
Perisic - Conte favourite and top player
Spence - Excited us all
Lenglet - Granted he was back to Barca.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing..
I said I think early on in the window I was happy with how it had gone in the early part of the window , not overwhelmed but whelmed definitely. I did say we had some more to do and we we then went cheap on the rest of the biz . In the end i was somewhere between whelmed and underwhelmed,

In our medical teams hands now...

Do we? We know that release clause activations are relatively rare, and within that release clauses over 43m+ are rare. We have no idea how all the mega-money deals in football history have been structured, clubs don't release this stuff.

An educated guess can be made by the fact that many clubs, including Spurs, have a big build up of football creditors - ie deals are paid for over a number of years not up front in general.

He knows the Spanish league though and is quite suited to it, I would have rather him go to a PL or even a championship team and work on the Physical side of his game
I agree it probably would've been better for his physicality to stay in England clubs such as Fulham/ Brentford/ Palace or Southampton would his suited his game but i think he emerges from Sevilla a player reborn because less in the spotlight

Really needed a cb this window, it's 2023 and Sanchez and Dier are still at the club ffs
The only possible choice that people on here would be Ndicka and he’s really not all that. I would rather go big in the summer.

Also every single report before the window opened said we were just looking at attackers and a RWB. They also mentioned CB would be a summer buy.

Gotta moan about something I guess

I think that's a massive "if". I get the kid might be fucked off but he's just starting to actually get regular playing time, be that starts when Kulusevski was out or subs. I'm absolutely all for sending kids out when the aren't getting game time and it's stifling their development, but he had a loan last year, is now starting to get regular minutes, was actually looking like a viable squad player and, most importantly, I think he offers something creatively and off the ball that none f the other - pretty meagre options - do.

We are now an injury away from Moura bouncing around like a headless chicken or Richarlison or Danjuma playing out of position - and Richarlison barely adds much more creatively than Gil and DanJuma is very much an unknown quantity/quality at this point.
You had me at headless chicken.

My big point in the post you responded to is whether Conte will play a 20 (or 21 year old) having seen game time for Harvey White (now 21) and Djed Spence (now 22) not happen.......

All the CBs on our horizon appear to be young. Either Conte's not interested in them or he has some mental adjustment to do.... Personally, for the right player I don't think he gives a fuck. EG Kulu (at Spurs) , Bastoni (at Inter).

not whether he's good on the basis that every report says that he is very good

Eh? No idea what this is a tie-in to.
