True to form, Levy trying to rape the South African economy too. In a country that doesn't have proper Health Care, Education, running water for all and adequate food supply, he is trying to get a sponsorship. How low can you stoop.

LEVNIC is one of the most toxic partnerships on this planet. It goes beyond football. I will always be Spurs at heart but I will never be LEVNIC

LEVY and ENIC OUT!!!!!

***ing it of £42m, in exchange for £277m of media exposure that could have a significant impact on tourism, not only from the UK but across the global as we're apparently the 8th largest brand in World football... I'm not sure it's a terrible move TBH.

I have many friends that have had to flee South Africa in recent years, and their stories are things of nightmares. The country has massive problems and a bad reputation. They need to do something to help their economy, I guess tourism is a pretty low hanging fruit?

Anyway, their woes aren't to be laid at our door.

Perhaps fixing those problems first would be smarter than focusing on getting to visit whilst they remain...

"Visit SA - come see our land of nightmares, we have massive problems and a bad reputation, you'll be desperate to flee back home to safety in no time!"

Doesn't seem like something worth paying multi-millions to advertise!

That said, I don't care one way or another morally if the SA leadership want to chuck money at us in one of their bad decisions, I hardly think if Levy didn't take it that it would go towards providing better healthcare for their population instead...

Are we Chelsea from a few years ago?
8 senior players out on loan.
Our problem is that we would sell them if we could . Chelsea were happy to just loan them out.
on that subject. FIFA rules state that the 8 player loan does not apply to under 21 players.
udogie is under 21. Can anyone answer that.
we have…Tanguy….Lo Celso…Winks…Rodon….Reggie…..Spence….Gil…..That is 7 without Udogie.
have I missed anyone.

Maybe, but that's up to them to decide not us. £42m isn't going to fix that anyway, not even close. By government standards it's spare change.

For me Sanchez has been one of the worst signings we've made. Was a massive transfer fee and he looks like he's trying to control jelly half the time!

18 months left on his contract, and on £65k per week, we will struggle to find someone abroad happy to pay those wages. It sounds like he's not keen to be shipped out either, so can see him taking his money, running his contract down and leaving on a free next summer

He has certainly struggled, but I have a soft spot for Dav.

Firstly, he's an absolute model pro. Secondly, he was excellent in the run in at the end of last season (he had a great game against the Scum) and helped us get 4th. Thirdly, he's good in the air.

But yes, watching him attempt to play the ball out is excruciating. He just can't do it. I think we could sell him to a newly promoted side maybe?

Might be wishful thinking on my part but i think he'll go in the summer, maybe for a very minimal fee, perhaps even subsidising his wages. I think Eric Dier will be the one we keep on to play out the last 12 months of his contract.

It's Chelsea's fault there is a limit.

At one point they had over 40 players out on loan.

Guarantee that if he's up for it then he will receive an extension, so as to maintain his "value".

I think a lot of people's judgement of this window is being clouded by:
  • Increasing hostility for Levy / ENIC (which I totally understand).
  • Chelsea's ridiculous spending (just how can they afford it all and how fucked will they be in a few years?)
  • Woolwich cantering towards the title.
Putting all those feelings aside, I think it was a decent January window. We offloaded two players Conte clearly did not trust to use (at least now) in Spence and Gil (but will return to the club in the summer), and replaced them with two significant upgrades (Porro and Danjuma). We were unlucky with injuries in the first half of the season to key players (Bentancur, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Romero), and Son has been in disastrous form. With a front 5 of Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Richarlison and Danjuma - I do not think we have ever been stronger up top.

I think Conte's system looks very pedestrian until it clicks, and when it clicks it really clicks. Porro and Kulusevski on the right could take us to a new level and alleviate the pressure in midfield (Conte is happy to be out-numbered in CM if we get overloads on the wings). I know people want a creative CAM but Conte is pretty stubborn and our lack of buying someone like Maddison is because Conte simply does not want a player like that.

Yes - we badly need CB upgrades, preferably at CCB and LCB. I personally am happy to wait for the summer if the club feel the right players will be available then. Similar with a new GK. If in the summer we only got quality in for those three positions I would be very happy.

Obviously, if Conte leaves at the end of the season the new manager (Poch?) will have a hell of a lot of players to assess - not just the 25 man squad we have now, but also the players out on loan - Gil, Spence, Reguilon, Ndombele, Lo Celso, etc.

Frustration with ENIC is simmering away very close to boiling point yes, I think the Woolwich thing is probably affecting even the most vociferous more than they know though...

It's just fucking typical, one of the few times for the best part of a decade that they look likely to finish above us and they might well win the League? From a Spurs fan perspective you couldn't make this shit up!

Poor Window
Doherty release shock
£17m Doh released, £30m Gil and £20m Spence loaned underlines the dysfunctional unfit state of levy and the board.
What really matters is whether Conte is happy with this TW ?!

Is this your first draft of the end of season statement to the fans Daniel?

Is it just me that thinks Reguilon is a good squad member? Not first choice (he loses a fair few duels) but decent backup? Surely he's better than Sessegnon ?

The only way this window will look successful is if our attack (which is already 3rd best in the league) is boosted by the 2 arrivals.
Stay with me.

A team with a significant threat going forward will, almost always, provoke caution from the opposition. We got 72 points in 2012/2013 because Bale was such an enormous goal threat, almost everyone defended for their lives.

If teams are doing that they're not getting at our idiot defenders and "mentally drained" goalkeeper.

It just means we will have to create more against packed defences.

Or none of the happens, teams keep getting at us and we keep throwing the ball in our own net every week.
