Fair points - I’m sure there are other decent keepers across top 8 in Italy, Germanynor Spain.

Sanchez at Brighton is my choice (might even be HG?) also good with Raya who has great feet but Sanchez has such a calming manner and safe hands. Like a cross between an old school keeper who catches everything and a modern footballing keeper with good feet

My point is if we rate Sanche higher than Raya, and he will cost 30M more we should not automatically default to the cheap option
I get your point, but if we don't see much between them I can understand why we would instead focus that extra 30m on a better CB. Good thing about our window this year is that we don't need loads IMO. Last year felt like we needed a complete rebuild whereas now I think we just need a couple of key players to strengthen the XI. No more signings like Gil and Sessegnon where it's punts on positions we don't need, lets focus on getting two Centre backs, a keeper and maybe a central midfielder and be done with it.

2023/24 squad depth of:
GK: Raya, Lloris, Forster
RCB: Romero, Tanganga
CCB: Kim/Guehi, Dier
LCB: Bastoni, Davies
RWB: Porro, Emerson, Spence
LWB: Perisic, Udogie, Sessegnon
CM: Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Skipp, Sarr
RW: Kulusevski, Gil
LW: Son, Danjuma
ST: Kane, Richarlison

Plus someone a bit more creative in midfield.

How many better goalkeepers are there out there that are realistic?
This is going off the highest value keepers on transfer market before you get to Raya:

Courtois, Donnaurumma, Alisson, Ederson, Ramsdale, Ter Stegen, Mendy would never leave their current clubs for us.
Diogo Costa, Sanchez, Pickford, Mamardashvili, Unai Simon, Kobel, Remiro, Meslier are all similar or inferier in ability IMO.

That leaves Oblak (30 years old, unsure he'd want to come here regardless), Maignan (Lloris consistently picked ahead of him at international level), Martinez (would he want to come here with Woolwich connection?). As mentioned we are also desperate for HG players, add that in and I think he's the obvious choice.
he is better then most on the top

better then ederson for sure

Why are we stuck to only paying a reasonable fee? A keeper is for 10 years if you buy a good one, rather than be stuck with a reasonably priced one. We’ve had 26 reasonably priced RB’s since Walker eft and in total they’ve cost twice as much as higher priced a good one.

You’ve been Levy’d
Well we need two CBs, a keeper and a CM so we'll end up paying a huge premium one way or another. With that in mind being able to get at least one of them for a reasonable fee is important.

Sanchez looks to be HG. Joined Brighton at 15 years old and his 2 loans were with Forest Green and Rochdale.

Transfermarkt:
Raya: €22M, under contract until June 2024
Sanchez: €32M, under contract until June 2025
