Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've never been Conte out but I just dont understand what I witnessed today.
Everything was awful from team selection, tactics, game management and subs.

Only 2/3 teams with a worse defence than us in the league, just not good enough.
yeh agree with this.

Not Conte out yet but his insistence on playing Son is negligent and his instance on not making any subs until its too late is just absolutely weird beyond belief.

He cries for signings and spending but what's the point if he doesn't have the balls to drop or sub Son off? we have Richarlsion and Danjuma now ffs and he still can't bring himself to do it.

I’ve been so tired with him for weeks now. Maybe some of his personal issues have had a big impact on things these past few months, but we just look predictable, incompetent, and the vast majority of the team have been regressing under him.

I’m not saying we have a team of outstanding players, but so many of these performances and results are on Conte.

I’m done with him.

Dinosaur. Said it from day one.

Well Mister Dinosaur from Day One, just in case your memory needs a bit of jogging, Conte produced the goods in the run-in last season. Fuck knows why it's gone pear-shaped, and perhaps part of that is because the new signings haven't worked out and we haven't strengthened the squad where it's desperately needed.

I can't argue against Conte being asked to go now, but we're kidding ourselves if we think that alone will solve all our ills.

It's almost weird that one week he isn't there, they play the best they have all season. Looked cohesive, attacked well and go on to beat the Champions and keep a cleansheet.

And then the following week, the likes of Kulusevski look like they can't be arsed. Defensively poor (as if they're scared) and offensively poor.

Sorry but for me leaving out Emerson is like leaving Lucas out of the CL final. The man just had the best game of his career and then he gets benched. I don’t care what we paid for Porro, he should not have started the game. Sets the completely wrong tone.

He also selected Tanganga over Sanchez (just like at Brentford) which is just foolish. He is not learning lessons.

If these were one-off issues, I’d not hold it against him too much.

This is every game…for months.

Every coach has a bad game tactically or lineup wise, but a pattern of odd decisions shows a systemic problem.

The handbrake came off last week? Seemed like it

It has to be worrying that our best game of the season was the one he had no part in.....

But last week was probably just an anomaly, a game we could sit in our tight 5-4-1 shape and counter-punch from there. Every other game this season, especially like today where we have to try and do a bit more, and it's just nonsense. Systemic failure, wide open games, exposed defence and individuals getting shown up under the barrage of pressure.

I've got sympathy with some of the players he has to use, but nah - he's stealing 15m a year off us right now. This season it's just been the same shitty pattern of matches on repeat, just today was to the extreme (and we've used up all our two goal comebacks by now).

As someone said in the match thread. They probably all like Conte the person. But not his tactics by this point.

Stellini had tweaked the tactics against City and you could clearly see the players enjoyed having another gameplan. Even if it at its core was similar in that it was defend and counter. At least we did so with a plan.

Yes, we have (kind of) shit players and yes that is on Levy/ENIC. But. In this case you have to get a coach who can make a group of players better than they are individually. Conte just won't work with how this club is run, which is why he has to leave. Especially as he won't sign a new contract anyway. I just can't stand being outplayed by every other shit team and even our wins (most of the time) lucky ones.

And true, Dier or Tanganga or Forster are certainly not good enough but hey, we lost against a Leicester with shitty Ward in goal (not worse than Forster) and the individual class of their defenders isn't better than what we have. This can be an excuse against teams with better players, but not against this shit Leicester team.

I agree with a lot of that, but the reason I’m done with him now is that I believe he is costing us points.

If he were maximizing our potential with what players he had at his disposal and we still had bad results, that’s not on him. This team isn’t great, but I also don’t think they are this poor either.

Can't argue with that, and it's also why even though I wanted so much to support him, especially with him coming back from his illness, I just can't overlook what a travesty all aspects of this performance was.

Do we think Stellini is lying when he was the tactics came from Conte then?

We put in arguably one of our best performances of the season when he's not in the country.

He returns and we're on the end of a thumping from a relegation side.

Doesn't take a mathematician to put 1+1 together. There's something not right at the club. We've seen these downfalls before recently.

I want to back the manager as I'm thoroughly anti-Enic with the neglect they've had on this football team. But Conte is not helping himself by continuing to stick to his favourites who are doing him no favours. He's also being out witted by vastly inferior managers.
