Was thinking by end of season Bissouma and Bentancur would be our midfield 2, fuck sake
I am a big fan of Skipp and Sarr but it’s a lot to be putting on them.
On thé plus side they’ll get some serious minutes. Too often we give young players a few 10 minute cameos and a start agains gillingham in a disjointed team then completely write them off because they haven’t looked like the finished product.
It’s not good for the season if Bentancur is out but it is good for the longer term and it’s good for Sarr and Skipp.
And that's why I never wish injury on any team.
Moment the game finished last week elation. 8 days on and it looks a very different picture.

Well we can add a ball playing CM to our list in the summer as well then. It could take him ages to get upto speed. What a mess.

It’s a fairly routine op nowadays, not like when Gazza and others did ACL’s. Should be fine long term

Don’t wish injury on the fella, but he’s nowhere near as pivotal or great as most seem to think.
I can only assume it’s more a sign of how utterly dogshit our midfield has been previously that Bentancur looks so good to some people.
He’s technically ok, can do various facets reasonably competently, but has one gear (plod) and doesn’t excel at anything, and does get caught dawdling on the ball a fair bit.
Him and Hojbjerg as a double pivot completely bereft of vim, with or without the ball.
Real shame Bissouma is out. Hopefully we get to see if Skipp can step up.
